Happy Hump Day! For those of you having a slow week, imagine being a snail! Sea snails actually make up for the majority population of the snail family. Their diet is made up of mostly plants and algae. The cool thing about this certain type of species is sea snails can actually increase their shell size by using calcium carbonate located in the sea water! But does this mean they can move faster than land snails? The answer is no, sea snails are just as slow in the ocean water.

Happy almost-Halloween! This fish has decided to dress up as a clown! There are 28 different species of clownfish, and not all of them are orange. These tiny fish live and feed mainly off anemones. Fun fact: All clownfish are born male, they have the ability to change sex only to become the dominant female in the group.
The Pitcairn Islands is home to the world's newest and largest contiguous ocean reserve. This is great news for the protected sharks, coral reefs, and other kinds of marine life in this reserve!
Have the Monday blues? So does this pufferfish! Pufferfish, also known as blowfish, developed their unique ability to inflate because of their slow and clumsy swimming qualities. They use their highly elastic stomachs and the ability to quickly ingest huge amounts of water to turn themselves into a virtually inedible ball several times their normal size! In addition, all pufferfish contain tetrodotoxin, a substance that makes them foul tasting, often lethal to fish and fatal to humans. There are more than 120 species of pufferfish worldwide, so be sure to avoid running into these cute, yet extremely dangerous species in the water.
Despite their snake-like appearance, moray eels are actually fish not reptiles! Did you know that there are around 200 different species of moray eel? These species can range in size from just 10cm long to nearly 2 meters in length! These secret animals spend most of their lives hiding in holes and crevices and relying mainly on their sense of smell. #FishyFriday
