The La Mesa protests hit very close to home with our office spared the worst of it, while Chase Bank across the street from us was torched along with Union Bank next to it. It's been very uplifting though to see how our fellow business owners and residents have banded together to clean things up. We banked at both Chase and Union, so we know the people that work there too. We will miss them, not to mention no longer being able to walk across the street to do our banking.

Our office in 1948 (newspaper article) when it was the home of the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce. In 1956, it was relocated to where it is today and the Chamber continued to operate there until 1965. The building was relocated from the NEC of Allison and Date for the new post office. That post office as well as the building the Chamber moved to, was also later torn down and is now a parking lot. So it is appropriate that the Chamber building should be a commercial real estate office, helping La Mesa businesses!
