Fine tuning new #endodontic techniques that I learned at the 2020 #tdo and #gentlewave integrated users group this past week. They involve minimal instrumentation thus relying on the power of the Gentlewave to do what it’s made to do. This case had calcified mesial canals and a moderately sized distal canal. Speaking of untreated ML canals, here’s yet another one from this week. Studies show that almost ALL maxillary 1st molars have some sort of ML system so if you’re consistently only treating 3 canals you should consider a acquiring a #microscope and a #cbct #retreatment #seein3d #toothsuperhero

Untreated canals are one of the top causes of endodontic failure. In this classic case, the ML canal (aka MB2) went untreated for 10+ years leading to a huge apical lesion on the MB root. After removing this gnarly post, removing all #guttapercha , and irrigating with #gentlewave I feel pretty good about this beautiful result #toothsuperhero

I couldn’t be more excited about this case!!! God made us with such complex anatomy and this case truly demonstrates that. Necrotic tooth 3. 3 x MB canal orifices with a 3-1-2 canal configuration. 2 x DB canal orifices type 2. Palatal canal split at apical 1/3! Even better, it was a referring doctor’s tooth so I wasn’t the only one to be excited #gentlewave #bcsealer

Occasionally there is a case that kicks your butt. This MB root looked so calcified on the pre op #cbct and guess what! It was!!! Perseverance and grit (and lots of 6 files) helped get me through. And #gentlewave irrigation helped me keep it small and be sure it was still clean

Loved seeing this #lateralcanal on tooth 8 since patient had a #sinustract on the MGJ right in this area and a 5mm pocket there too. Tried to run a #gentlewave cycle but couldn’t get the platform to stick so used good old fashioned #endoactivator . Final sizes 20/04 1mm short of working length.
