Every baptized person has received the vocation to proclaim to proclaim something, to proclaim Jesus the vocation and mission to evangelize: to proclaim Jesus! -Pope Francis, February 2, 2020
Today, Bishop Alberto Rojas celebrated our annual Migrant Mass! Bishop Rojas shared in his homily, For years it has been the teaching of the church that they [migrant community] are always welcome with us, that every Catholic Church is a home for them. This is our understanding, this is our belief, this is what our faith teaches us. Thank you to the Office of Advocacy for putting together this Mass for us to celebrate the migrant community that captures what it means to be a universal church and enriches our diocese through their experiences and expressions.
Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi Lord, make me an instrument of your peace: where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon;... where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy. O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.

The Office of Advocacy, and Respect Life and Pastoral Care have provided a nine day novena leading up to election day that will begin Monday, October 26th. We hope that in joining ourselves in prayer, and doing so with intentionality, we can find a sense of unity, peace, and comfort in the Arms of Christ; that we may recognize our common bond is in Him and that all hope rests in the foundation of His promise. Bishop Gerald Barnes has announced Riverside County will, again, have Mass and Sacraments outdoors only, in response to today’s announcement that the County has been moved in the state’s purple COVID-19 tier. Let us first acknowledge the feeling of discouragement that this news brings, writes in a statement today. It is real and it saddens us. But let us also remember that Our Lord is at our side.
