Excited and grateful that tonight, for the first time since December 2019, we performed and hosted Richardson Prep and Cajon jazz band in our reinstated annual jazz night!! It was a lot of fun being back in the theater and sharing music with a wonderful audience. Thanks to everyone who came!

Congratulations to the class of 2021! It has been a very difficult year and few months but you persevered and crossed the finish line! We are very proud of you, and will miss you greatly. This page has been quiet throughout this virtual year; naturally. As of now I do not have any information on next year, schedule, what will be allowed, not allowed, instrument coverings/masks or not, etc. As I get information, I will get the word out through this page, and Google Classroom.... We will figure it all out, and get back to doing what we do best: making music together! I hope everyone has a great summer! See you in August. -Mr. Nabhan

SBCUSD TO REMAIN IN DISTANCE LEARNING The Board of Education of the San Bernardino City Unified School District on Tuesday voted to keep students in distance l...earning for the remainder of the current school year, which ends in June 2021. The governing body of California’s eighth largest school district took action on November 17 after carefully weighing local COVID-19 figures that show the virus is spreading at alarming rates and families living in its attendance boundaries are especially at risk. San Bernardino County is among those in the state that have experienced drastically increasing COVID-19 cases, forcing it to remain in the purple tier. The Board’s decision is consistent with its steadfast commitment to safety for students and employees. This decision will enable District staff to focus greater resources toward strengthening distance learning while also allowing families to better plan. As part of their decision, in-person accommodations for small groups of students with specifically identified educational needs will be offered when the Board deems it safe to do so. This in-person support is allowable under public health guidance from the state. This is the second time since the March statewide closure of schools that the SBCUSD Board of Education has put the health and safety of its 47,000 students and close to 8,000 employees at the forefront of its decision to keep schools in distance learning. Good Morning Everyone, Here is San G's schedule for distance learning. Monday, August 3rd, is a Non-Late Start Day Monday (just like if we were in person) so be sure you follow the right schedule for the first day of school. Attendance will be taken every day. Grading is back to normal.... Students should be able to access their schedules through Aeries at this time. Although this will be the strangest start to any school year for all of us, I am still excited and looking forward to getting going.

Good Morning Everyone, I hope you all are having a wonderful summer; as best it can be under the circumstances. I have not posted an announcement regarding marching band because I was waiting to hear CIF’s official announcement regarding football, which was released this morning. Football season has officially been moved from the fall to December 2020 to April 2021. With this knowledge it is now clear that marching band will not be able to conduct a traditional season this f...all. Band camp is cancelled as well as any other practice/competition that is on the calendar now. Our next step is to look forward to December and the hope and possibility that we can support our football team in their planned season, and possibly our competitive circuit changing to this new timeline. This is all very disappointing but we will adapt, overcome, and look toward the future. -Mr. Nabhan

Very proud of Matthew Jackson, our San G Class of 2020 valedictorian, who was a member of our jazz band for all four years of high school. Matthew participated in a special Spectrum network event that honored the class of 2020 with celebrity speeches (Dennis Quad, Jason Alexander, Don Cheadle) and student speakers from all across Southern California. If you would like to watch Matthew’s speech, click the link below, find the video under Watch Our Special, and fast forward to 1 hour and four minutes. Matthew does an amazing job of highlighting our school, and giving inspiring words to the class of 2020.
