We are a Little Late with this one! Trasna na dTonnta is an online cyber-Gaeltacht event running from Monday 14th to Friday 18th of December 2020. During this week, they are asking for as many people as possible, from all around the world, to tweet ‘as Gaeilge’, as much as possible, while using the hashtag #TrasnaNadTonnta. We are asking all our Bay Area Clubs to post a picture or a video of something related to hurling and football and the city (puck around at Lands End for ...example) with the hashtags #trasnanadtonnta #Nollaig You can do the same from your personal account also with the same hashtags. The amount of Irish you use can be minimal and you can write something if you don't feel like talking. Be sure to tag other clubs in your city and country so we can get the ball rolling. Although we unfortunately haven't had any hurling to watch on Treasure Island this year , one only has to look at the 2 panels for Sunday's unique All-Ireland F...inal match-up of Limerick and Waterford, to bear witness to the extraordinarily high standard of Bay Area hurling in recent years. Almost unbelievably, 7 former Na Fianna players are involved in this game. On the Déise side we have Jack Fagan (Na Fianna 2015) and Conor Sheahan, Mikie Kearney and Colin Dunford ( all were Na Fianna players in 2018). Preseason Championship Favourites Limerick are in the opposite corner, and they feature Richie English, Tom Morrissey and Darragh O'Donovan, all of whom hurled with us in 2016. Our rival clubs in town have former players involved to so at least a dozen players who will walk Croke Park's sod on Sunday have graced our own Páirc na nGael in the recent past. We would like to wish both squads the best of luck on Sunday, and thank everyone involved for the wonderful entertainment that they have provided us in this toughest of years. See more

With all that is going on in the world at the moment - Here is a little GAA humor for you! Two 90 year old men, Pat and Tom, have been friends all of their lives. When it`s clear that Pat is dying, Tom visits him every day. One day Tom says, "Pat, we both loved hurling all our lives, and we played through all the ranks, right up from U-12 together for so many years. Please do me one favour, when you get to heaven, somehow you must let me know if there`s hurling played up ther...e." Pat looks up at Tom from his death bed, "Tom, you`ve been my best friend for many years. If it`s at all possible, I`ll do this favour for you." Shortly after that, Pat passes on. At midnight a couple of nights later, Tom is awakened from a sound sleep by a blinding flash of white light and a voice calling out to him. "Tom, Tom." "Who is it?" asks Tom sitting up suddenly. "Who is it?" "Tom it`s me, Pat." "You`re not Pat. Pat just died." "I`m telling you, it`s me, Pat," insists the voice. "Pat! Where are you?" "In heaven", replies Pat. "I have some really good news and a little bad news. "Tell me the good news first," says Tom. "The good news," Pat says, "Is that there`s Hurling in heaven. Better yet, all of our old buddies who died before us are here too. Better than that, we`re all young again. Better still, it`s always spring time and it never rains or snows, so there`s no need for cancelled fixtures. And best of all, we can play all we want, and we never get tired..."
