In the month of July, we hope to uncover new understandings of God’s love for us, centered around Ephesians 3:14-19 (from the Bible reading on Pentecost) For ...this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height - to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. In these verses, God’s love is described as having 4 dimensions, one more than the dimensions experienced in our reality on this earth. Although the love of Christ surpasses our knowledge, through the extraordinary power of the Spirit we can get glimpses of this unfathomable love, understand how it enters our lives, and accomplish more through it than we could ever think or imagine. Being rooted in Christ’s love means being filled with the fullness of God; this is not just information to teach, but rather a wisdom and power that transforms us, and is something we cannot help but want to share with others. For those whose congregations are not open, a live service will be streamed every Sunday at 10:00am Eastern time, and then will be available on-demand after the service has concluded.
