San Diego Area Congregations for Change

Few will see this post, but anyway, I'm curious about the next move of the "Black" church community in the ongoing fight for Civil Rights for Black people. As the coronavirus pandemic sheds glaring light on how far behind Black people still are in this country, 66 years (read that as 3 generations) after Brown vs Board of Education, where is the front and center Spiritual leadership of the Black community? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Luther_King_Jr.

SACC has been idle for a while. It is very difficult to train pastors and churches who have very little understanding of civic engagement. It is not taught in most seminaries, and it usually does not fill the collection plate. But it does speak truth to power. If the Black and other oppressed people (of all shades of brown) are to ever be truly free, we most know the truth, and speak it. If you think you know a pastor who could help his or her community with training in civic engagement, please let me know. It isn't easy. It isn't glamorous. It IS hard work. It takes time and commitment.

WEEKLY REMINDER $$$: I'm trying to get my community members $$PAID!! for doing a little simple homework. ASK YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY MEMBERS TO GIVE YOU THEIR APPLICATION!!! (See the Guidelines below.) They don't have to come for the FOOD. They don't have to come for the MUSIC (Jazz, R&B, Hip Hop, Gospel, Salsa). They don't have to come for the SAVE THE PLANET INFORMATION and MONEY SAVING AND MONEY MAKING information from the vendors. YOU just bring the applications and get PAID! 10 applications = $100.00+. All you got to do is bring them. If only half get installed, MO MONEY FOR YOU! = $1000.00. If you bring 10, you'll probably get the $500.00, too. We have helped many in our community. Time to do the same for us. We have calculated that if everyone in the community whose lives we've touched gave only $10, we should easily get to $4000. Give a little. Give a lot!
