Some history about our small town

Yesterday, Engine 168 returned home from the August Fire. The crew of four was assigned to the August Fire for 14 days.

Community Members: Today, Chief Young lost a set of Ford keys on Dogtown Road between the times of 11:00am-2:00pm. Chief Young is willing to fill up the gas tank of anyone who can find and return the keys upon confirmation that they are the correct ones. Thank you!

Today San Andreas Fire Protection District responded to the report of an aircraft down at the intersection of HWY 12 and Ham Ranch. Due to a fast response, personnel were able to keep the fire contained to the helicopter itself and prevented extension to the surrounding wild land. Also responding was Calaveras Consolidated, Cal Fire, California Highway Patrol, Calaveras County Sheriffs Office, Fish & Game, PG&E and American Legion Ambulance.

Remember the retired captain from the San Andreas Fire Protection District who adopted kitten "Cal Fire" (brought to us by the Angels Camp Cal Fire crew)? Well,... it seems Cal Fire needed a friend. The captain was back today and chose Blue, a special needs kitten who's blind in one eye due to corneal scratches sustained before coming into our care. We wish Blue, Cal, and the Captain a lifetime of happiness together!

Late night commercial structure fire on Stanislaus Avenue in the City of Angels Camp. South County Fire Departments, Angels Camp & Altaville Melones Murphys Fi...re Protection District - Volunteer Firefighters Association San Andreas Fire Protection District CAL FIRE Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit CAL FIRE Local 2881 worked together to contain the fire. This evening San Andreas Fire assisted Mokelumne Hill Fire with a vehicle fire great work everyone

Last night, we had a residential structure fire on Broadway Street. The home was unoccupied. A very aggressive firefight kept the fire contained to the single residence. We would like to thank South County Fire, Cal-Co Fire, Cal Fire, Central Fire, and Mokelumne Hill Fire for their hard work. Please use caution when in the area. Crews are still working at the scene.
