Everyone’s favorite day is here #NationalDonutDay! Let’s celebrate by looking back at its history. Created by The Salvation Army in 1938, the first Donut Day was a fundraiser during the Great Depression. It was also a way to commemorate The Salvation Army’s Donut Lassies who served the sweet treats to soldiers during World War I. . Today, it’s a time to enjoy a donut (or several) while providing comfort to those in need. Many places are giving away free donuts, so find one now.
