Salle D'Asaro Fencing Club would like to welcome Teodora Kakhiani to our fencing family. The 2017 European Champion and NCAA Silver Medalist will be training full tiime at Salle D'Asaro for her spot at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. She will also be helping our young fencers grow and become champions like her. We would also like to congratulate her on her recent marriage to fellow fencer Peter Meckling. Teo comes to us after graduating from Penn State under the coaching of Wes Glon. Then on to Denver where she met Peter while training at the Fencing Academy of Denver under coach Tom Strzalkowski. http://fie.org/fencers/Teodora-KAKHIANI-20903/
Busy day 3 here in Baltimore at the North American Cup (NAC). 4 girls fought hard against fencers from around the country. Our result of the day is Katherine taking 27th and earning US points. Or team leader, Janna, was forced to withdraw again with her hip injury from Friday. A little ice and time and she'll be back on top in a week. Charmaine was fencing a category up against girls 1, 2 and 3 years older. Top 64 result is a great one. So Kaley has to overcome some tough calls and a very tough opponent and was eliminated in the 64's as well. We are so proud of all our fencers. Tomorrow is the last day. Wish us luck.
Just a reminder about our free beginning class December 23rd and 30th. Spots are filling up fast. If you ever wanted to try fencing, this is your chance. Contact me asap! www.salledasaro.com or [email protected]
