Happy Fourth of July Today we celebrate the birth of American independence! As our founding fathers fought for our freedom, The #SalvationArmy will continue to advocate for freedom of all. #HappyIndependenceDay #FourthofJuly
Did you know that it's #NationalCulinaryArtsMonth? To celebrate, we'd like to highlight the Kitchens for Good program at our Door Of Hope Rady Campus in #SanDiego. As apprentices, residents learn both culinary and life skills that they can then take with them to their new careers in the culinary and hospitality industry. #chefintraining

We can't think of a better way to spend the summer than at @satustinranch! Kids at Tustin Ranch Corps Youth Ministries had a blast learning, laughing, and sharing the love of Jesus Christ. Across the division, children are enjoying their summer at The Salvation Army. You can bring fun activities like these to children in your community at http://bit.ly/tsa-camp-give
1 Corinthians 13:13 | And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is Happy #ValentinesDay from The #SalvationArmy
Last year, Dedra Moon distributed #ValentinesDay chocolates to domestic violence survivors in her community to remind them that they're not alone. With the help of some crowdfunding, she made 238 "boxes of love" that were distributed to shelters for women who are survivors of domestic violence. Alexander Beck and family | #BlackHistoryMonth The Beck family joined the Army around 1890 after moving out west to California. Their daughter Pearl grew up in the Army and eventually became a "War Cry Boomer" - a seller of the centuries-old magazine that is still in publication to this day. #BlackSalvationists Check out The War Cry's publications at thewarcry.org
Everyday our employees and volunteers put their life on the line to do this work of love and to serve the communities they care about. Help us spread the love this Valentine's Day by making a donation at http://salarmy.us/loveis For Fernando, Love is caring for the Redondo Beach community. Fernando was born in Brazil and spent most of his professional life as an engineer for an oil company. However, after retiring early, he finally got to dedicate his life to the one thing he'd always wanted to dogive back. Fernando is currently a volunteer in charge of The Salvation Army Redondo Beach Corps, CA's digital media and social media content development, and serves as a member on our Advisory Board and Public Relations/Development Committee.
In #SanDiego, our meal delivery program for seniors has grown in demand since last year and continues to serve thousands of older adults in need. Our officers and volunteers have been working tirelessly to ensure our neighbors have a nutritious meal on their plate every night. Anthony is currently an Intake Coordinator at The Pasadena Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC). However, his journey to get to where he is today was not easy. For years, Anthony had turned to alcohol to numb himself from his family issues and low self-esteem. It wasn’t until 2015 when he first entered The Salvation Army ARC program that he ever addressed the root of his substance abuse issues. Since he first started the ARC program in 2015 in San Bernardino, Anthony had been so...ber for 3 years, but he had a slip up and decided to transfer to the ARC Pasadena program instead. Here he was able to deal with the family issues and low self-esteem that drove his addiction. Through the Work Therapy Program and the support from people like Christa, our Director of Rehabilitation Services, Anthony was able to work through his issues. Christa was one of the crucial staff members who helped Anthony throughout his journey, always offering an ear to listen and words to uplift. After going through the program during the COVID-19 lockdown, he was able to see The Salvation Army’s true dedication to their clients. Officers and staff allowed individuals to stay at the facilities, ensured everyone was able to communicate with family, and kept them active and busy with different activities. Anthony doesn’t know what he would have done without The Salvation Army ARC program and hopes to help more individuals like him during his time working for the Army. #DoingTheMostGood

Yesterday The Salvation Army Bell Shelter opened up their newly remodeled recreation room for its residents. In efforts to bring awareness to homeless veterans, authorized LASD personnel wore the first ever Veterans Patch for the month of November in 2019. These patches were also sold to the public, with proceeds going to the Bell Shelter. After two months, LASD raised $17,500 for Bell Shelter’s much needed recreation room revamp. Thanks to these donations, hundreds of homeless veterans will be one step closer to finding the stability and comfort they have long been working for. #DoingTheMostGood To help homeless veterans in your neighborhood, donate at SoCalRedKettle.Org today!
#CowboysNation, this year Kane Brown will be kicking off the The Salvation Army USA 2020 Red Kettle Campaign during our Thanksgiving Day halftime performance on FOX! Tune in & help us all #RescueChristmas for those in need this season.
