This Saturday and Sunday we are hosting a Give Back Sunday drive for the Catholic Charities of San Diego Migrant Shelter Program for refugees seeking asylum. Catholic Charities of San Diego has opened a short-term shelter in Kearny Mesa for refugees arriving from Central and South America seeking asylum in the US. These families have sponsors in the US and are staying in San Diego briefly, until they arrange transportation. Most of these people arrive with minimal possessions, and are in need of basic necessities. Please join us in support of these men, women, and children seeking safety and security. Please consider donating this weekend, or volunteering at the shelter. Thank you!

Saturday, June 19, Vigil Mass
In solidarity with our African American brothers and sisters, join Bishop McElroy and Bishop Dolan as they celebrate Juneteenth Freedom Day Mass, on Saturday June 19th at 5pm at St. Rita Catholic Church. Juneteenth is the oldest celebration commemorating the announcement of the abolition of slavery on June 19,1865 that essentially ended slavery in the US. It serves as a reminder of the triumph of the human spirit over cruelty and injustice. As Catholics, we especially take t...his time to continue praying for the conversion of hearts and vigilant actions required to overcome racism in our Church and communities. All are welcome to join in the Mass celebration. It will be held outdoors in accordance with health guidelines. The Mass will also be live streamed at sdcatholic.org/juneteenth2021. #juneteenthmass #freedommass #prayer #solidarity
