Sage Creek Softball

Sage Creek Bobcat soffball season came to an end today in round 3 of the CIF SDS playoffs. I could not be more proud and honored to have coached these girls this year. With a roster full of Freshmen, Sophomores and a few juniors, we are a young team and our future is bright! If you see a Sage Creek player around this summer, congratulate them on a fantastic high school season!!

Sage Creek wins with a walk off double by our CF Gabi Diaz scoring Chloe Cagle from first base! The 4-3 win advances the Bobcats to Wednesday’s away game against Morse High School. First pitch is at 3:30pm!

Today was our last team Zoom conference that we have been holding twice a week since the season was shut down. Tomorrow would have been our last regular season game....(would have been CIF bound I am sure of it!). I thought it would be good to allow the girls to share their thoughts on the season and how COVID19 shutdown affected them positively or negatively. What was the common theme amongst the girls, while they are bummed that the season is over, they realize how much the... sport means to them, how it kept them driven, in shape and focused. They missed the grind at practice, the excitement at the games and most of all, the team unity and spirit. We are a young team and this down time only made us hungry for more and more determined to hit the field running next year. I am very proud of each and every one of the girls and honored to be their coach. We do not say good bye to our senior, we say see you later....Once a Bobcat...always a Bobcat! Posting some info from the CIF SDS Commissioner.. Practice and Competition High School teams will not practice or compete during the period designated by each school or school district in which schools are closed; this includes practicing at alternative sites. For all intents and purposes, no-contact period guidelines will be in effect-coaches may not coordinate, schedule, direct or plan team activities and there can be no student-organized or led practices.... The spring season of sport and rule 600 remain in effect. Student-athletes may not practice, train or compete with club teams during the high school season of sport. Please keep in mind that the purpose of all recent cancellations and closures is to actively encourage people to avoid groups and gatherings.

Due to scheduling issues, the game scheduled for 3/26 against Mt. Carmel is cancelled. We are working to either fill this date with another team as well as rescheduling the game vs. Mt. Carmel. More to follow...
