Happy Friday from Safe2core Inc!
Q&A with Safe2Core Inc! Question: Does GPR work to detect underground utilities? Answer: For metallic and solid utilities, such as electrical lines and septic tanks or other subsurface structures, yes. Since 2003, pipes and conduits made of PVC or materials with similar electroconductive properties which may not show up on a scan on their own are generally marked with conductive tape or a guidewire that traces the length, depth, and direction of the pipe. As long as we can match up the relative depth of the utility with its meter and placement on the drawings, we can give your crew precise locations with a very small margin of error and help assure your excavation or placement project is exactly located to avoided utilities.
Happy Friday everyone!
We use the latest in GPR Scanning equipment, trained staff, provide fast response time and quality work. We work with contractors to locate and mark post-tension cables in high rises, Conduit location, Rebar location, Voids, and obstructions to make the coring process as smooth and safe as possible.
Safe2core accurately locating utilities! On a typical Utility Locating project, our technicians will use Ground Penetrating Radar, Radio Detection and 2 box metal detectors to achieve high degree accuracy.
Concrete coring is a specialized coring service provided by Safe2Core. During a construction project it is very common to have to drill or core through concrete walls or floors. Safe2core can scan and locate any conduits and obstructions in the concrete, mark them and then core as required with the knowledge that we will safely clear all obstacles. We employ the latest in concrete coring equipment allowing us to make clean precise bores as safely and efficiently as possible.... Here are Safe2Core we use only the best equipment for our concrete coring projects. We use diamond products Bits with Milwaukee & Core Bore drill motors and we can drill holes with smooth clean cuts from 1/2 to 8 Diameter. If you have a concrete coring project that you would like to discuss, please complete the form on the right and we will respond promptly. https://www.safe2core.com #safe2coresanjose #GPR #coredrilling #sawcutting

Question: Can GPR concrete scanning determine rebar diameter? Answer: Theoretically, yes, it can. GPR measures the reflected radio waves given off by obstructions and dense areas within the concrete. If the GPR return maps out a grid beneath the concrete, it is reasonable to say that grid is almost certainly the rebar. Working from the drawings and construction documents, we can verify the number and thus the diameter of the rebar. However, in the field, we can only estimate ...rebar diameter and strongly caution against relying upon these estimates for cutting and coring operations without verification of the rebar number(s) in place. #GPR #Groundpenetratingrebarsanjose #safe2coreinc See more

What are some examples of private utility lines? And why call a utility locating company to map utility lines location when I already had it done by 811? A public utility line delivers service of that utility to a given area, such as primary lines and mains. These underground utilities are maintained by the public utility company responsible for them. Private utilities are normally behind the meter which serves a specific house, building or lot. Normally you’ll find these lin...es located behind the property boundaries. Public utility locator services do not normally provide underground locators for private utilities, and locating underground utilities is not usually included in the utility mapping services the state provides. Private utility lines may include: * Electric lines * Natural gas mains * Sewer lines * Water lines * Communications lines such as phone, cable and Internet * In-ground sprinkler systems * And more. Understanding the difference between public and private underground utilities, and calling the right utility locating companies for the job, can make the difference between a successful project and a disaster which makes the evening news for all the wrong reasons. https://www.safe2core.com/safe2core-inc-offers-private-uti/ See more

From cement to grass, we can scan it all! Happy Friday Everyone!
Since concrete is one of the most durable building materials, diamond tools need to be used to get through it. We specialize in Core drilling, Saw Cutting and Wall Sawing.
Happy Friday Everyone!
Gas, electrical, fiber optics, water supply and drainage lines need to be accurately located prior to any destructive processes that may cause any damage. The best results are achieved when multiple methods and techniques are used on each location. Safe2core uses both direct connection and passive induction methods in all of our Utility Locating Projects.
As with any technology, there are limitations with Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and the success of the scan is highly dependent on the substrate composition and conditions. The following are the most common issues found in the field: Reflection Metal such as a steel plate or in some cases heavy reinforcement in concrete can reflect close to 100% of the signal back at the unit leaving whatever is under the metal undetected.... Dispersion High water content or other factors can cause the signal to spread to the point that there is very limited signal return to the unit. Absorption Some materials absorb the signal from the unit leaving little or no signal to return to the unit. In the last few years Ground Penetrating Radar equipment manufacturers have made a push to close the gap on technology limitations by introducing new antenna frequencies and multi channels antenna frequencies. Safe2core is fully equipped with all available and latest Ground Penetrating Radar equipment in the market. https://www.safe2core.com//concrete-scanning-ground-penet/ #GPR #Safe2Core #GroundPenetratingRadar
