Sacramento-Shasta Chapter of The Wildlife Society 15.12.2020

This is not a TWS or TWS-WS event but we wanted to share it with everyone because we think it sounds like a fantastic opportunity! You are invited to join us a...t a Virtual Roundtable on Creating Safe Spaces for Black Communities scheduled to take place on Tuesday, December 8th from 6:30-8:00pm EST. Our first roundtable discussion will be moderated by our very own Dr. Mamie Parker and David Mizejewski! We will be hosting a phenomenal group of roundtable panelists, including Lynn Scarlett, TNC Chief External Affairs Officer, Wayne Hubbard and Candice Price from Urban American Outdoors, Dr. Christopher Schell, Urban Ecologist and Assistant Professor at the University of Washington, Harrison Pinckney, Clemson University, Shelton Johnson, National Park Service, Sanai Kintchen, The Links, Incorporated mentoring program, and several other Black leaders. Join us to learn about the challenges the Black community faces in safely accessing and enjoying the outdoors, and learn about ways you and organizations, such as the National Wildlife Federation, can take action on addressing issues and barriers. To attend the event, RSVP here https://natwild.life/GreaterAccess This roundtable is the first of a three-part series. Currently, we have 2 additional roundtables that are scheduled to take place on January 12, 6:30-8:00pm CST and February 2, 5:30-7:00pm PST that will feature several Black leaders across professions.
