Aren't these beautiful
Dear Cymbidium Lovers, The Board of the Sacramento. alley Cymbidium Society met by Zoom last week and decided we did not feel safe to call us back together for in person meetings. We are taking care of some club business, including relocating club plants, pots, and supplies. Dave Russell is moving and so our stuff did too.... We are reviewing available sessions on YouTube or other clubs and will post links soon. Please comment with your suggestions. We really miss your company. Ann Carberry, Pres. SVCS
Gorgeous hot pink!!! Congrats
Very pretty cymbidiums.
Cymbidium Cariad 'Plush" is a primary hybrid between elegans and devonianum. I know it has no show bench shape (and with those parents who could expect it) but... it has a lot of charm. The plant has 6 inflorescences and is growing just under shadecloth outside. It is a pity that the Melbourne Orchid Spectacular is cancelled with Covid 19 or this plant would have been there just to show how charming it is. I wonder if I shade it next year I may clean up the colour. I do this with elegans to get a nice lemon colour. See more
Pretty in pink!
Are you getting your Cymbidium's ready to bloom? During the growth season (spring and summer), keeping the potting material evenly moist. Reduce water when the pseudobulbs complete growing in late summer. Humidity should be kept at 40 to 60 percent. Keep air circulating to prevent orchid pests and diseases. Fertilizer should be applied during the growth season (spring through late summer), high nitrogen fertilizer (such as 30-10-10) is used. In late summer, use a high-phosphorus, blossom-booster fertilizer (such as 10- 30-20), to help form bloom.

Cymbidium's are one of the most amazing orchids. They come in a wide range of colors & few even have a great smell. Do you have a favorite color? #cymbidium #cymbidiums #orchid #orchids #colors #colorful #fragrance #sweet #smell #club #svcs #sacramentovalleycymbidiumsociety #sacramento #flower
Happy 4th of July to you all. Have a fun & safe day.
This would be fun.
Cymbidium madidum, an Australian species. It hadn’t bloomed for 3 Years since I divided it. This year the smallest divide bloomed while its two larger sisters did nothing. It just started dropping flowers today.
This is my last blooming cymbidium. And in Sacramento with 100 degree weather, that’s pretty amazing. It is Cym. Madidum (Carilara x Apple Jack) Check out next post for its ancestor.
