"From wildfires to a deadly virus, from politics to smoke-filled air; from George Floyd to the East Bay Rapist: Lord, Your world is broken. You call us into worship in this kind of world. You are not naive, and you invite us not to be either. But when your Son Jesus came out of a tomb, we found a true hope--the new focus of this new community with bedrock stability amidst our preferred flimsy foundations. We turn aside from those today, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, to let you work. To let you draw us back to the empty tomb; for you to renew our hope this Sunday, August 23, 2020. Amen."
Hugest Happy Birthday to Stephanie Nelson!!! I want to celebrate getting to become friends and colleagues over the years, and getting to work together as teammates for City Life Church. Stephanie, you’ve been a joy: fun to work with, stellar and dependable, and someone whose compassion has led the way, shining God’s grace for me (& the rest of the world) to see. HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEPHANIE!!!! Pastor Marc Holland

City Life’s Leadership Team has decided to cancel Sunday services and public gatherings until further notice due to the very real threat posed to our city by COVID-19. For more information regarding "why" and "now what" please read the linked letter.
When my brother steals my stuff or when I wake up on the left side of the bed.
I’m more cautious, uncertain, and I still end up stubbing my toe on things I hadn’t anticipated. But, sometimes, my eyes adjust a little bit if I am patient. I stubbed my toe on my coffee table, then couch, then dresser, then my bed. Not a good deal. Raccoons & possums in my yard I don’t know it’s too dark to tell. Scary stuff like taco monsters... Sex Lots of sneaky things that don’t usually happen in the lightbut sleep & prayer & love can always happen, too. See more
Because I love the heat! Because they have lizards and cacti 2 words: super bloom Metaphoric desert? The lack helps us be depending on God. Literally? You got lost driving down to Disneyland. Two words sand dunes!... To appreciate the gardens & forests! To visit the slit canyons & see a different kind of beauty To get the question of the week on the other side. See more
