8/17/2016: Ribbon-cutting Ceremony for Sacramento Chinese of IndoChina Friendship Association -SCIFA Thanks to thousands of people who came out to support our Ribbon-cutting Ceremony to dedicate a new kitchen. Over a short period of time, with monetary assistance and support from the community, the Board of Directors held a grassroots campaign and was able to raise more than $250,000 to build a modern commercial-grade kitchen. Twice a month, the Board provides complimen...tary vegetarian lunches serving more than 1,000 families in the community of South Sacramento. The Temple and kitchen will continue to serve as a focal venue for community events. Special thanks to; Deputy Director General Alex Lee, Taipei Economic and Culture Office in San Francisco; Assemblymember Kevin McCarty District 7; Patrick Kennedy, County Board of Supervisor, District 2. Eric Guerra, City Councilmember, City of Sacramento, District 6. APAPA-National Chief Executive Officer, Lucy Oback. President of the Sacramento Benevolent Association of Sacramento, William Siu. President of the Taiwanese Association in Sacramento, Lynn Fu, President of Vietnamese-American Community of Sacramento, Tim Do, Man Minh Dai, Vietnamese-American Community Leader Director of Asian Pacific American Outreach, office of Senate Republican Leader Jean Fuller, Jacqui Nguyen; Field Representative from the office of Senator Richard Pan, Jenny Bach. We are so grateful to have the community unite and support our association. SCIFA serves as gathering venue for community events and we are here to take care of the needs of the community.
