Easter and Passover are here! But it is still important to maintain social distancing and avoid church/temple and family gatherings. Here are some reasons why you should avoid gatherings, including church and family gatherings, this year: -We love our grandparents! Let’s help keep our grandparents safe this holiday season. Those over the age of 65 are automatically at high risk for complications due to COVID-19 and those with certain medical conditions may be at an even high...er risk. -The CDC has recommended avoiding social visits, and California is not allowing family gatherings of any kind (yes even if you stay 6 feet away at all times and even if you are wearing a face mask). -Children put everything in their mouths! After all, they are discovering new tastes every day. It is hard to predict what your child might do around loved ones, and while infants and children may show mild or no symptoms if infected, they can still spread the disease to others who may be higher risk. -To date, MOST infants and children are not showing severe symptoms. This does not mean infants and children are not at risk. There are infants and children in critical condition in hospitals across the country. We think you’ll agree, it’s not worth risking your child’s health! So now you can share with others who still feel there is a safe way to have a social gathering, "Look my doctor says..."! Have a healthy and happy Easter and Passover from us at PMA!

We will now be posting a Covid-19 question of the week! This week we are asking : Does my child need to be tested for Covid-19? What if they have been exposed to someone that tested positive or are experiencing mild symptoms? The short answer is most likely NO.... The current protocol for children suspected of having Covid-19 does not call for testing unless they are having serious symptoms that need to be treated. Otherwise, the best course of action is to quarantine them with you (no grandparents or babysitters allowed for this one) and help them recover at home. There are no current child testing facilities in Sacramento for children with mild symptoms or for those with no symptoms that have been exposed to or are suspected of having Covid-19. *If you believe your child has Covid-19 and is struggling with pneumonia please call our office right away unless it is life threatening (in that case, always call 911). Have a question you would like answered? Let us know! Message us on Facebook with any questions not involving any specific personal health information or give us a call with further questions.
