I don’t like to toot my own horn, so I’ll just share what others think As an attorney and business owner, and more importantly a frequent member of professional associations across the county, I can share valuable insights to brand new business owners to help them launch a successful business. Launch, and keep them that way. I welcome those planning to start a new business or incorporate and launch into the next phase of the business to connect and discuss liability prot...ection planning. Unfortunately business disputes and lawsuits happen in business. Let’s set a strategy together to help avoid losses to the greatest extent possible. Losses are not only economic losses, but non-economic losses too. If you’re ever faced with a lawsuit, plan to lose as little as possible, if anything. Don’t wait to discuss liability shelter planning until later. The earlier the better. #smart #planning #incorporate #LLC #Corporation #EffectiveegalStrategies #BlueCollar #WhiteCollar #Consultants #LawFirm #attorney #lawyer

2 simple lines and yet, they are incredibly life changing for these clients. Phew. Glad this matter is resolved. Fortunately these folks can lift a HUGE weight off their shoulders and focus their time , money , and energy towards on more positive matters. Great job. Congratulations. These clients were a joy to work with. I am incredibly excited to have helped them with achieving the grand dream of homeownership. The typical escrow timeframe is 30 days. In those 30 days, surprises require immediate attention, documents require immediate review, and discussions can happen early am or late pm. I’m ready for the task, but for this reason I have to be selective in working with clients. There’s only so many hours in a day and I hope to keep clients happy and satisfied. I’m looking forward to continue working as counsel for this family in other matters.

April showers in a positive way with some amazing feedback. I greatly appreciate these, but it does take a lot of intentional effort to offer positive experiences as well. That’s a fact. But I’m glad clients see that. Thanks, clients!!

What a great event! Thank you, @iamvictoriajenn and @thefemalecollaborative_ for allowing me to be part of this amazing event. Fireside chat: Where the Money Resides: Prenups, Wills & Getting your financial house in order. Now I’m watching the following panel: Breaking the Cycle of Toxic Masculinity. Great discussion and panel members. Little did I know Ja Rule and NFL players were up next. Great panel of civic leaders too. ... I encourage ladies (and their gentlemen friends) to log in and check it out. (Running EST schedule). #womenwhoroar2021 #thefemalecollective

Enjoy the upcoming New Year's celebrations! I'm in agreement with the internet today: Don't forget to yell Jumanji at midnight to end this horrendous experience brought to us by 2020.

Was working on my Xmas wishlist earlier this month. This item made it to the list. Gorgeous, yet risky. This is a case where beauty beats utility and it’s totally worth it. I wear a watch to EVERY meeting. Zoom meetings being the exception. ( I believe this is the first post also published on FB. Greetings, merger! Leave me a note on IG)... #wishlist #attorney #attorneysandiego #attorneylife #feliznavidad

San Diego County Residents & Business Owners: County Creates COVID-19 Compliance Hotline (858) 694-2900 To report violations: Call (858) 694-2900 The goal for this Healthy Compliance Center -- part of the County's "Safe Reopening Compliance Team -- is for the team to determine how serious the violation is in order to alleviate some of the burden from local law enforcement divisions that need to "focus on the elements of their mission." Previously, those types of calls are being taken at the county’s 211 phone line. In July alone, the county received 400 phone calls via 211. This new hotline would allow reporting parties to speak to a county employee one-on-one, in more detail.

San Diego County Employers: Report Employees With COVID-19 If your employee or independent contractor has been diagnosed with COVID-19, you must call in to notify Public Health Services about an employee with COVID-19. Call 888-950-9905. Provide the employee's name, date of birth, and contact information. Prepare to leave a recorded message. It's highly likely you won't get a call back confirming receipt, but the County is using this information. Per County officials on August 5, 2020, failing to report is a misdemeanor likely subject to a fine, though enforcement details were not outlined.

DISCLOSURE Take into account that San Diego County is not subject to out-of-state laws and court decisions, but if such lawsuits develop in California it can be expected for judges to use out-of-state orders for guidance. JANE DOE v. HILLSTONE RESTAURANT GROUP... May 2020: In the State of Texas, the state has not mandated face-coverings for restaurant workers. Some cities within the state have enacted face-covering mandates. Hillstone Restaurant Group employs Jane Doe in Texas. Jane Doe wished to work while wearing a face mask. However, her employer disapproved of such measure and in response did not schedule her for work. That became company policy. Jane Doe filed a petition to dispute the company's policy forbidding wearing masks while at work. A Texas judge issued an order requiring Hillstone to allow employees to wear masks. Such an order was in effect for 14 days. This 14-day order served as a temporary restraining order allowing Jane Doe to work with a face covering while she seeks out a more permanent solution, or more permanent legal claim as needed if the employer elects to refer back to its policy.

San Diego Superior Court likely to re-open in phases after Memorial Day. Expect delays. Here's a snippet showing how hearing dates will be impacted in civil matters: "Case Management Conferences will be re-scheduled for 120 days from the original date. Notices will be sent via U.S. mail to parties who have formally appeared in the matter" This applies to some civil cases only. If you have an open case, read the press release below. http://www.sdcourt.ca.gov//2020-05-14%20SDSC%20BEGINS%20RE

FAQ: Are estate planning matters moving forward amid COVID-19? Answer: Yes, they most certainly are. As people always say, the one thing we all have for certain is that at some point we all die. For some it is not a fun topic to think about. For others, having their affairs in order is certainly exciting. Count me in the second group. As COVID-19 started, plenty of inquiries were handled asking for either self-help options or assistance in preparing documents. Here are a fe...w inquiries and matters that have come across our desks the last few months (March, April, May): I'd like to create a simple Will. Help? My financial advisor tells me I need to create a Trust. How does that work? COVID-19 has made me think about establishing plans for myself, my spouse, and my children. My children have their own children now. Is this something I can plan? I'd like to leave behind a DNR (do not resuscitate). Can you help with that? My parents left behind a Trust where I was nominated a Successor Trustee (future administrator). Can I start without making a court appearance? Can I start with all the limitations of COVID-19? I have a few retirement accounts that need attention. How does your office help with that? Does it? What plans can I make now so that my minor child is cared for should anything happen to me? Mom passed away and we cannot find her Will. What can we do? I live out-of-state and a family member died in San Diego County. Can you help with Probate there? I'm out of the country and wish for my son to complete the sale of one of my properties there. Can you help? Probate matters in San Diego Court are temporarily on hold, but we need to start a Probate. Can that still happen? Clearly these are paraphrased but this is a brief, incomplete list of the legal inquiries that have come through this law firm amid COVID-19. Can you help me with the formation process and starting that up?... I'm in need of a loan, can you help review my promissory note? I'd like to file a suit against a non-paying customer and understand the court's are closed. What are my options? I need help navigating the Payment Protection Program (PPP). Can you assist in helping how to maximize this opportunity? My business will need to temporarily close due to COVID-19. What do I need to get in place in order to do this while limiting liability? I'm merging my business and its resources with another local business, can you help with the paperwork involved? COVID-19 has impacted our business only a little, we need help navigating new additional requirements from regulating agencies involved in our industry. My business is still closed but I need to get a few contracts in order, can those be ready in a week or two? My business partner has died and we had no business succession planning in place, the spouse and I need help determining what happens to the business partner's share. Help? FAQ: Are estate real estate law matters moving forward amid COVID-19? Answer: Yes, the real estate industry managed to quickly adjust to new guidelines and measures in order to avoid interruptions. And of course legal issues never rest. Here are a few inquiries and matters that have come across our desks the last few months (March, April, May): My commercial landlord is not providing much financial relief during COVID-19. I have lost revenues and wasn't able to pay rent the l...ast two months and they are is now threatening eviction. Can they do that? What can I do? I'm in the process of buying a house but was presented with a new Coronavirus CAR form. Are you familiar with that? Can you help explain? A friend of mine and I purchased a property together a few years ago. Now we want to go our separate ways, but I want to keep the property. Can this be done even with COVID-19? I need a proposed lease amendment reviewed. My landlord is amending the lease amid COVID-19 and is adding new protections and releases from liability. Do I have to sign this agreement amendment? I'm selling a property and the buyers want an extension to the escrow process as there have been delays in having them sell their house. Can you help navigate the process? Clearly these are paraphrased but this is a brief, incomplete list of the legal inquiries that have come through this law firm amid COVID-19.
