"A painting of a vintage terracotta folk art pottery drinking vessel from Chile. Many years ago my husband and I backpacked around South America. I purchased th...is beautiful pot and carefully packed it inside a box where it remained safe in my backpack throughout our travels. Many years later to my dismay it was knocked off a shelf and shattered. Once glued back together I decided to paint it surrounded by tissue paper to symbolize its fragility and to capture this beautiful piece of native pottery forever in oil paint before it disintegrated again. This painting extends outside the initial inner frame and spills out onto the Casita creating the illusion of the wrapping paper coming out of the box." -- Linda Schroeter Framed in a custom made Casita with 23kt Gold Lip from The Batican Frame. Day#6 at home studio WIP on easel. Another pass on my eagle painting yesterday. I have been wanting to do a series of eagles for so long and now I have no excuses. Using my field paintings and photographs from our annual trips to beautiful Alaska, I am so enjoying working on this, it’s a guilty pleasure but keeping me safe and sane. I am at high risk having asthma and been told to stay away from everyone, something I think many artists can do well, self isolation.
