SEASON POSTPONED Rugby NorCal Membership Update December 8, 2020 Due to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases and regional stay at home orders, Rugby NorCal is postponing the upcoming season until further notice. Membership insurance may not be valid while under the stay at home order. We continue to monitor the situation and have scheduled the next membership update for January 7th.... Rugby NorCal plans to hold competitions, in compliance with State guidelines, as soon as we are allowed. Once we have guidance on returning to non-contact practices with cohorts, or any additional information from the State, we will update the membership. We will continue to work with our partners to get back on the field as soon as possible. In the meantime, we hope everyone stays safe and healthy during the holiday season.

COVID-19 Update August 8, 2020 California Youth Sports Guidance: https://files.covid19.ca.gov//guidance-youth-sports--en.pdf... On Monday, August 3, 2020 California released an official youth sports guidance laying out conditions for all youth sports. Sports that cannot be played with physical distancing are limited to only conditioning and training, and only where physical distance can be maintained. While distanced drills and conditioning are allowed, team competition is not. The guidance prohibits tournaments, events, or competitions, regardless of whether teams are from the same school or from different schools, counties, or states. This guidance applies to all youth sports programs including school-based, club, and recreational programs. This guidance cancels any competitions for the Fall Sevens and the season is now postponed until further notice. Rugby NorCal continues to monitor students returning to school and sports and will update the membership when new information becomes available.

Rugby NorCal COVID19 Update March 20 2020 USA Rugby Competition Mandate All sanctioned competition and rugby activities are suspended for the foreseeable future, effective March 20, 2020. Members and clubs are asked to refrain from match play, training or team gatherings during this period. Accident and Liability insurance will not be valid during the above window of time. Rugby NorCal COVID-19 Advisory: 30 Day Suspension of All Matches and Practices 3-13-2020 USA Rugby has announced a 30 day suspension of all competitions and activities effective immediately. This notice has been posted to the USA Rugby communication channels.... Rugby NorCal is mandating a 30 day suspension of all matches, practices and all other activities related to rugby effective immediately. This advisory is mandatory. We will provide updates as new information becomes available.

COVID-19 Mandatory Postponement 3-12-2020 Rugby NorCal’s primary concern is for the health and safety of its membership and community. The Board of Directors has temporally postponed all rugby matches until March 23, 2020 as we continue monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. ... This decision was made to protect our membership, organization, and surrounding communities as we track the rapidly changing information concerning the coronavirus pandemic. During this time all teams must make their own decisions about training based on state and local Department of Health Advisories and the wellbeing of their players and community. The uncertainty and risk involved with the coronavirus pandemic presents a challenge to youth rugby. It is our duty to make responsible decisions in the best interest of public safety and we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding. As new information becomes available, we will immediately update the membership.
