Kids Table 1993. I so love the purity of kids drawings. So innate, unbounded and immensely expressive. Big kudos to my children, you hold my heart strings.

HotHotHot!!! In ever beautiful 109 degree Ojai Working on emptying the shed-city out back of the studio, prepping for the new build. Serious organizing, re-boxing into more efficient, half size, half weight, client friendly boxes. Not sure if I'm even halfway done but will have moved 33.5 tons of tile with "most-ish" of the decos and "most-ish" of the field tiles. OY!! Final count? Stay tuned...

Balboa Pk project from an insiders view: Richard's always amazed at how many ingredients must go into the most muted colored glazes. And how off they can be after firing. TestingTestingTesting. Lotso testing. The "colors" are basically glass applied as a painter would do so, yet each shade a different formula and the "colors" are not NOT until fired, errrr. Like painting in the dark. We're lucky for the quietude of this lockdown. We can fight in peace...

Quarantine Dilemmas.... A friend was lamenting his lockeddown 30th BDay so the fam conjured up a social distanced scavenger hunt replete with a gourmet lunch out on the high plains outskirts. One stop, our studio gave BDay boy Matt further clues coded on the back of a tile. We've been so stupid busy trying to complete this Balboa Pk project, perhaps I wasn't the happiest player in all this funsville. Nonetheless and who da thunk the random tile I quickly grabbed to play along just happened to be the EXACT one his parents purchased when he was 12 out on Catalina! I love this world! I think we ended up with the best gift after all!!!

Balboa Park mural work in progress like a big paint by numbers. The boring part is the glaze development, formulating, testing and rejections, round 2,3... then finally off to the races glazing the "acreage". Yellow highlighted grid shows DoneDoneDone in a box with a bow on it. April-ish deadline now into the -ish.
