There are some artists whose work I just really love. Richard Hawk is one of them. I am so honored that he chose "Medallion #5" to receive an Honorable Mention in this month's San Diego Watercolor Society's show "Color Zone" When I have a new theme I'm painting a series... Medallion #3 is also part of the show...I will post the link as soon as the show is online...

It's that time of year again. The Wildlife in Art show sponsored by Foothills Art Association entries are this week! This is the biggest show of the year and I've been painting for several months. To all of you that knew that I taught art classes at Nainsook Framing + Art, it is time to clean out the cabinets! I am selling almost everything that we used for our classes. I’ve had quite a bit of time to paint since our salon is closed...Here are some new pieces in acrylic, watercolor and mixed media...They will all be at Nainsook Framing + Art on display. When I am quiet on FB it is likely because I'm busy in my art studio:) Although I am unable to work at my lifelong trade in the beauty industry right now, I am enjoying the time spent on growing as an artist. My gratitude abounds for many things: ~That I have an interest that affords me the ability to be creative... ~That I have wonderful artists, friends and mentors in my life like Debi Nichols, Jami Wright, Craig Anderson, Lisa Bebi, Drew Bandish, Rise Parberry and the late Jack Jordan, all who have taken their time to teach, talk and critique my art. ~For my wonderful family, always supportive of my art, and my husband who has a great eye and is honest with me when accessing my work (not to mention putting up with all of my projects spread out everywhere at times!). ~That I have a nice space to create, with lots of storage and a big, beautiful easel donated by my neighbor, Chris. It's made doing larger pieces much easier. ~That I have made many friends through the art associations of which I belong, and through the classes that I've taken from others and taught at Nainsook. It's been so good in this time of seclusion to stay in touch with them. ~And last but not least, to all of those friends, clients and art lovers that have purchased my art. I have to say that without that positive reinforcement that someone else liked something that I created, I probably wouldn't have continued painting.

Finally finished This one took some time for sure. Memories of our four trips to Europe. Having this hang in our dining room brings back memories of those great times daily! Travel Thangka 27x45 created from Muslin, watercolor ink and Souvenirs that I copied onto tracing paper and then collaged right onto the fabric.

Next stop...ink on fabric and maybe a bit more...stay tuned for progress each day
