He set the record for North America's Longest, Fastest Single Bit Run, and at one point he held the record for both the deepest well drilled and the 3rd deepest well drilled in all of California. He has also shared his insight through two books, one about the crucial factors to successfully drilling deep wells and the other he co-authored about the application of gravity measurements on wells. Project of the Week: Pan Oil Prospect This week we are choosing to focus on one of our most exciting sites, the Pan Oil Prospect. Pan Oil is generated from archival data of previous wells in the area including cored oil sand. It has an outstanding seismic line indicating a channel 1.5 miles across with potential 300+ feet of sediment to give the 4,500 foot target a potential 15 million barrels recoverable from a 2,000 acre foot print!
