Student Spotlight! We're thrilled to announce that our student Alyssa Lopez has been accepted to California Lutheran University to study Psychology! Alyssa has also been invited to interview for the University’s most prestigious merit scholarship: the Presidential Scholarship. The Presidential Scholarship program recognizes and rewards graduating high school seniors with exceptional academic ability and scholastic achievement. These scholarships range up to full tuit...ion for four years. Way to go Alyssa!!! Located in Thousand Oaks, California Lutheran University is a small, private, not-for-profit institution and is home to about 3,000 undergraduates. Cal Lutheran boasts a full-time faculty percentage of 100%. This is higher than the national average of 47%. Part-time faculty tend to spend less time on campus, so they may not be as available to students as full-timers. College Factual computes an overall diversity score for each college and university taking gender, ethnicity, geographic location, and age into account. Schools with the best mixtures of students with respect to these factors are ranked the highest. With an overall score of 85.68 out of 100, CLU is one of the most diverse schools in the nation.

Senior Spotlight! Roll Tide! Congratulations to our student Jackson Bradford for receiving an acceptance from the University of Alabama! Located in college town Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the university is a large institution with an enrollment just over 29,000 undergraduate students. Its most popular majors mostly fall within the Culverhouse College of Business.... Alabama students are known to be friendly, enthusiastic, and southern football fanatics! 'Bama's reknowned football program is a perennial powerhouse, having won five national championship titles since 2009. Greek life is also a big part of the social life with 42% of women joining sororities and 28% of men joining fraternities. The majority of students hail from out of state (61%). One student reviewer of the university has this to say "If you want a big campus with a lot of people, but also want a small campus feel Alabama is the place for you. While there are a lot of people that go here and classes can be big, the University offers many opportunities for smaller class sizes and many different interest groups so you can be a part of this large university without getting lost in the crowd." Why? Because there is definitive relationship between education and career planning and choice. We recommend students use O-Net which is a free database of career information assembled by the US government to find answers to questions like: What are some of the employment trends for this career and what kind of wages can I expect to earn?... What level of education do I need to achieve to perform this career? What kinds of skills and abilities do I need to perform this career? What are some of the tasks related to a career that I am interested in? At Royal College Consulting, we work hard to make the college application process as seamless as possible. Senior Spotlight! Congratulations to Bill Yan and Jackson Morrice on their admissions to Drexel University! Bill applied for a degree in Computer Science while Jackson applied to double major in Political Science and Environmental Studies and Sustainability Founded in 1891 in Philadelphia, Drexel has built its global reputation on core achievements that include:... Leadership in experiential learning through Drexel Co-op A history of technological firsts Recognition as a model of best practices in translational, use-inspired research. "Drexel's campus is impressive for its downtown Philadelphia location, with gardens and greenery on every block," says a student, "but the campus is woven tightly into the fabric of the city." It lies within a 20-block radius in one of the most desirable parts of Philadelphia, with plenty of restaurants and stores. Cooperative education is the hallmark of Drexel's curriculum, which alternates periods of full-time study and full-time employment for four or five years, providing students with six to 18 months of job experience before they graduate. The co-op possibilities, which more than 90 percent of undergraduates take advantage of, are unlimited: students can co-op virtually anywhere in the U.S. or in 38 other countries. Freshman and senior years of the five-year programs are spent on campus, and the three intervening years (sophomore, prejunior, and junior) usually consist of six months of work and six months of school. Most co-ops are paid, and the median six-month salary for co-op students is more than $18,000.

Happy Election Day, folks! On October 29th, a California appellate court dissolved the temporary stay on the injunction ordering UCs to immediately stop using standardized test scores (ACT or SAT) for admission or scholarship decisions. That means, effective now, the UCs CANNOT use ACT or SAT scores for making admission or scholarship decisions, including students applying for Fall 2021. ... Remember- the UCs have already committed to going test-blind starting Fall 2023 for ALL freshman applicants. The only uncertainty at this point is whether Fall 2022 freshman applicants will be test-optional or test-blind It's my job to keep up to date with the latest college admissions' news so that you don't have to! This testimonial made our day!! As my junior year drew to a close, I was faced with the daunting task of college applications on top of the unconventional methods of learning COVID-19 forced upon us. Instead of letting me bemoan the loss of all my school activities, Mrs. Royal encouraged me to use the extra at-home time to get a head start on college applications. Through flexible one-on-one Zoom meetings, Mrs. Royal broke down the formidable task of college applications in...to simple yet thorough steps that allowed me to put my best work forth. Using her resources, I was able to research and connect with colleges I had never heard of, many of which became priority colleges on my list. With her guidance, I was able to complete and submit all ten of my college applications before school started in mid-August. When my friends talk about their college applications, I am able to relax due to Mrs. Royal’s invaluable help. #classof2021 #seniors #classof2022 #juniors #classof2023 #sophomores #classof2024 #freshman #collegeplanning #collegeconsulting #collegeadmissions #collegeapplications #collegeessays #yourfuture #readyforcollege #royalcollegeconsulting

It’s better to learn your options now, rather than never learning them at all. You never know which college may be right for you! Take on Leadership Roles in Current Extracurriculars In terms of college applications, at this point in your high school career, it’s no longer beneficial to take on new extracurricular activities unless, of course, you’ve developed an interest in one.
