So it only took about an hour of working on the car and having the shop next door to the owner of it to realize, "Hey, this is the car from the cover of the Wolfsburg West catalog!" Yup... nothing gets by me.

Got the wrong year front brakes on your early type 3? Roth Vintage is adding type 3 wide five disc brake conversions to the repertoire! This kit utilizes the EMPI type 1 ball joint disc brake kit and fits perfectly under your stock, early type 3 wide five wheels!

One of these is not like the others! I guess this what I get for driving my car since December.

Long time Roth Vintage customer Skip Leigh's beautiful 57 convertible. This car has had a running issue ever since I've know Skip and he finally had me take care of it for him. Come to find out the distributor vacuum advance can had an internal crack in the diaphragm.

Testing the new lift on a customer's 13 window. Without the rack I could probably get another foot, but I think we're good!

Here's another fun project that we completed in 2015. Up until this particular 68 Karmann Ghia came along, I really didn't care for working on Ghia's. When I first got the car, to the shop it had been sitting for quite a while in an incomplete state after it had been painted. I installed the electrical system, the interior (original front seats), side window assemblies, bumpers, brakes and rebuilt the motor. I wasn't so sure that when completed, it would be as nice as it was. When it was finally drivable, I took it to lunch with couple of friends to test drive it and instantly fell in love with it. Amazing car, amazing family. Thank you Flathers family for allowing me to have been a part of the build!

Here's one from 2015. Efren Perez's 69 bug. I built this one in 2015 and it was photographed by R.K. Smith for Hot VW's for the June 2016 issue. This car went from a tired semi-custom daily driver to a real stunner. Paint and body was done by Harnix in Orange. Prostreet trans was rebuilt by Rancho Transaxles in Fullerton. 2087cc was built by Proformance Motoring in Orange. The only other things I didn't do on the car were the upholstery and the stereo. Roth Vintage did everything else. We even made the little EMPI style upper dash pad from the original one that was in the car. A lot of hours in this car!

Here's one that I completed the mechanical and electrical on last year for long time Roth Vintage client Rory Campbell. This is true right-hand-drive 1960 European 23 window equipped with a Bernie Bergmann 2387cc engine, Rancho Transaxle freeway flyer (with straight axle conversion) and Wagens West full front suspension and disc brakes. Body and upholstery were handled by Octavio's over in Orange. Awesome project for an awesome guy! More to come from this owner and RV!
