Rotary Club of Westlake Village Sunrise

Last night, our Westlake Sunrise Rotary Past President and Past District 5240 Governor, was given special recognition for his contributions to our district during a very challenging COVID year. His award was well deserved. Nick's resume is long and deep when it comes to his contributions to Rotary ( and the same goes for his late spouse, Heather). Here is an overview of Nick's Rotary accomplishments:... Joined Rotary in 2002 Club President- 2006-2007. Selected best medium club in the District District Governor 2016-2017 Awarded Best Large Service Org. in the Conejo Valley Prior to becoming District Governor, Nick served Dist. 5240 as an Asst. Governor and Exec. Asst. Governor He has also been Membership Chair, Int’l Service Chair and Communications Chair. In 2014-2015, Nick and his wife Heather served the District as Co- Chief Operating Officers Nick is a major Donor, Benefactor, member of the Bequest Society and a member of the Paul Harris Society. He is a graduate of the District 5240 PRLS and Master PRLS leadership training programs. For Rotary Year 2012-2013, Nick was the recipient of the District 5240 Samuel L. Greene Service Above Self Award. Nick has participated in international projects in Mexico, Honduras and South Africa. He helped establish the District 5240 Rotary Safari program which encourages Rotarians to participate in international projects. He has seen how Rotarians change the world one life at a time while understanding that often the people most changed by humanitarian projects are the Rotarians themselves. Last night, our Rotary District 5240 awards were presented virtually. If you were a member of Westlake Village Sunrise, you should be very proud. Both Nick Frankle and Marilyn Lippiatt were recognized for major awards. Marilyn won the Rotarian of the year for the District. I will address Nick’s award in a future post. With about 75 clubs in the district, winning Rotarian of the year for District 5240 is truly a high honor. Marilyn, thanks for all you do for our Club, District, and now our Zone ( Note: There are several Districts in a Zone). We are very lucky to have you in our Club!!
