What does hump day mean? Every Wednesday is hump day because it is the middle of the week, it's the hump of the week. You made it through the beginning of the week. You passed the most dreadful day: MONDAY and you're well on your way to the best day of the week: FRIDAY, yay! Hump means a raised mass, like the hump of the camel. Humpday is in reference to going over, reaching the top of a hill. Last week we had a wonderful guest speaker talk about how people communicate. He talked about body language and eye contact being just as important as spoken words. Mr. Ray Sidney, a professional gospel singer, shared his love and gift of singing with our students. He teaches music all over the world in over 20 countries. Some of his pupils do not speak English but they understand what he says by the way he says it. It was a great pleasure having him at Rosemead College. This week at Rosemead College students parcticed pronunciation and conversation by SPEED DATING! Well more like pretend speed dating. Nobody made a love connection, but everyone had a fun time expressing their deep life thoughts, likes/dislikes, and personal goals in English. It's a challenge to express oneself well in a foriegn language.
