Seeking clients who seek health. Health is prioritizing self and figuring out what our values are. Having a personal value system can help set the tone for how we live our lives, how we treat others, how we make decisions, and even who we surround ourselves with. Finding what we value can impact our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. Values can help us grow and develop as humans and help us create the life we want. Take some time to sit and think about what’s ...important to YOU. This is a huge part of prioritizing YOU. Here’s a list of some of my values (not in any order). The more I stay true to them, the more I find I stay true to who I was created to be. Seeking clients who seek health. Health is prioritizing self and getting enough sleep is vital to our well-being. Our body needs uninterrupted, restful time to recharge and reset. Our brain function actually depends on it. Health experts recommend 7-9 hours of sleep per night but some people may even need more. Sleep not only energizes and refreshes us, it helps us stave off disease and other illnesses, decreases inflammation, promotes healthy weight, enhances mood, improves... concentration and productivity, and increases athletic performance. It is so crucial to our physical, mental, and emotional state. Sleep is a huge priority for me. I have found over the years that sleep is the one thing that makes or breaks my day. It helps big time with my depression/anxiety and the way I communicate. So make your bed a comfortable space, don’t work in your bed during the daytime, limit your screen time and reading before bed, and don’t drink too much water before bed. Give your body the rest it needs to make each day worth it. #grateful #myclients #prioritizeself #sleep #rootsfitness #rootsfitnesssd #rootsfitnessandiego #seekingclientswhoseekhealth #sandiegofitness #sandiegotrainer #balancetraining #activelifestyles #fitnessinstructors #personaltrainers #cardiostrength #healthylifestyles #groupworkouts #drivewayworkouts #strengthening #mobility #activebody #matureadultfitness #fitnessforallages #fitnessforallagesandabilities #womanownedandoperated #womanownedsmallbusiness #strongbodystrongmind #loveyourbodyloveyourself #northparksandiego #southparksandiego

Seeking clients who seek health. Health is prioritizing self and another way of doing that is self care. Keeping up with our personal hygiene and medical wellness is of utter importance. Personal hygiene such as brushing teeth, cutting hair, grooming nails, and washing hands & other body parts are some of the ways we can stay physically and mentally healthy. Self care in these ways can help fight disease and protect us from other bacteria and viruses we come in contact with t...hat can cause infections. On a social level, one might be avoided if there is poor personal hygiene which can lead to isolation and loneliness. Nobody wants that. When I say medical wellness, I mean staying on top of doctor visits. We don’t have control over our family medical history. The genetics we are born with can set us up for disease or put us at risk for certain medical conditions. The wear and tear on our bodies over the years from moving improperly, playing sports, working, stress, eating processed foods, excessive alcohol consumption, and not staying hydrated can have lasting impacts. Be an advocate for yourself. Schedule yearly check ups. Don’t ignore those aches and pains or that irregular spot you find on your skin. Pay attention to your energy levels, blood pressure, weight, and cholesterol. These can all be signs that you aren’t well and nobody wants that either. Above is a picture of my foot when I had plantar fasciitis years ago. It caused me pain in my knee and hip as well and a lot of anxiety and depression because I wasn’t moving or feeling well. Seeing a doctor was the best thing I could have done. #grateful #myclients #prioritizeself #selfcare #rootsfitness #rootsfitnesssd #rootsfitnessandiego #seekingclientswhoseekhealth #sandiegofitness #sandiegotrainer #balancetraining #activelifestyles #fitnessinstructors #personaltrainers #cardiostrength #healthylifestyles #groupworkouts #drivewayworkouts #strengthening #mobility #activebody #matureadultfitness #fitnessforallages #fitnessforallagesandabilities #womanownedandoperated #womanownedsmallbusiness #strongbodystrongmind #loveyourbodyloveyourself #northparksandiego #southparksandiego

Seeking clients who seek health. Health is prioritizing self and sometimes that means a little indulging, pampering, or splurging on something for you. We need to remember that little guilty pleasures can be just what our mental and emotional state need at times. We need to find those balances in our life without viewing them as bad or destructive. Research shows that the kinder and more compassionate we are towards ourself, the more likely we are to go back to our healthy ...habits after a moment of indulgence. So go eat a piece of cake if that’s your thing. #grateful #myclients #prioritizeself #indulgeabit #rootsfitness #rootsfitnesssd #rootsfitnessandiego #seekingclientswhoseekhealth #sandiegofitness #sandiegotrainer #balancetraining #fitnessinstructors #personaltrainers #cardiostrength #healthylifestyles #groupworkouts #drivewayworkouts #strengthening #mobility #activebody #matureadultfitness #fitnessforallages #fitnessforallagesandabilities #womanowned #womanownedandoperated #womanownedsmallbusiness #strongbodystrongmind #loveyourbodyloveyourself #northparksandiego #southparksandiego

Seeking clients who seek health. Health is prioritizing self and part of that is having fun. Things are heavy, work is busy, and managing life can be daunting. We need less of the stressors in our life and we need to have more FUN! Studies show that our our mental health can improve by adding fun activities into our daily routine. We are less reactive when stressful situations arise, our relationships thrive, we connect to ourselves more, we create better.... And activity doesn’t have to mean physical exercise, although it might just go hand in hand since a lot of fun things involve moving your body a bit. I try so hard to prioritize fun in my life because I’m sick of feeling anxious and depressed. I let things get me down for too long and felt like I lost a bit of my identity. When was the last time you smiled, laughed, had a really enjoyable moment doing something fun? If you can’t remember, then maybe it’s time for some of that. Hike, dance, paddle board, play a game, do some improv, tell jokes, watch a comedy, do karaoke, get wet with a hose, play a sport, go biking, go kayaking, go fishing, have drinks with a good friend, eat food with another friend, go horseback riding, go skiing, go skydiving, play mini golf, paint, craft, build with legos, bake cookies, throw an impromptu party, check out some live music, travel, and the list goes on and on. Find your fun and prioritize the heck out of it- for YOU! #grateful #myclients #prioritizeself #havefun #rootsfitness #rootsfitnesssd #rootsfitnessandiego #seekingclientswhoseekhealth #sandiegofitness #sandiegotrainer #balancetraining #fitnessinstructors #personaltrainers #cardiostrength #healthylifestyles #groupworkouts #drivewayworkouts #strengthening #mobility #activebody #matureadultfitness #fitnessforallages #fitnessforallagesandabilities #womanowned #womanownedandoperated #womanownedsmallbusiness #strongbodystrongmind #loveyourbodyloveyourself #northparksandiego #southparksandiego
