The Mustangs earn 5 All-MEL Selections and SWEEP MEL Pitcher of the Year and League MVP Winners! It was a huge night for the RHS Mustangs as Collin Medeiros was named MEL PItcher of the year and Jason Booker won MEL League MVP! The 5 All-MEL Selctions:... The Mustangs pound Benicia 14-1 behind Jesus Vargas’ No Hitter! Jesus Vargas threw a 5 inning complete game no hitter, striking out 6. He was dominant all game, getting ahead of hitters and keeping them off balance. The Mustangs pounded out 14 hits, led by Kyle Sandner who collected 3 hits including a double and a triple. Jason Booker, Gavin Arpaia, Colin Medeiros and Landon Troutt all had 2 hits. ... Rodriguez finished their season with a impressive 10-5 record, 8-2 in the MEL for a second place finish. The Mustangs split their 2 games with Vacaville and Vanden while winning by at least 10 runs each game against Wood, Armijo and Fairfield. The JV’s also dominated Benicia, winning 17-7!
A Rodriguez Sweep of Vanden on Senior Day! Varsity: Rod 8 Vanden 7 JV: Rod 13 Vanden 3 The Mustangs hold on for 8-7 Victory after being up 8-1 after four innings. Nathan Schikore was dominant again, giving up one run in 4 innings. That was Nathan’s 5th MEL Win of the year, as he beat every team in league! ... Jack Metcho closed the door for the save to go along with his two hit day at the plate. Jason Booker had a double and a triple for the Mustangs. Rod concludes their season tomorrow hosting Benicia.

On behalf of the RHS Baseball Program, our hearts, thoughts and prayers go out to the Garza Family. Nathan was a phenomenal student athlete, scholar athlete and competitor.
