Kind of hard to believe that today is the second to the last day of the year. What ISN’T hard to believe is that it’s Wednesday and as such is time for #WCW (Women Can Wheel) Wednesday. - This week we have a wonderfully qualified account to share with you. @resqwrangler ( aka: Samantha ) is a shining example of exactly the kind of do it for yourself attitude that Women Jeepers seem to have in abundance. Having purchased her jeep 4 years ago, Samantha says: I never knew what... I would be gettin into! A sentiment we can probably ALL share with her. Samantha continues - It opened up a world of awesome friends and adventures!! I started out building my jeep slow, then last fall we did it right. long arms, one ton’s, 40’s I thought it was all I ever needed. Fast forward to this winter and that clearly wasn’t enough. We are going with 43’s, LT1 motor, Genright cage, Motobilt back half kit and much more. Last year when we started the build at @highliftoffroad, I hung out at the shop probably a little too much so excited for the completion. It wasn’t long until I started working at Highlift Offroad as marketing and the online manager. I now live for the trails! We try to push my jeep to the limits! I also film and edit Youtube videos for Highlift. So most of the time I am out of my jeep with a camera in my hand. Beyond her trail and work activities, Samantha serves as a local Firefighter and and is a member of the water rescue team, where she is a public safety diver. Hence the name ResQ Wrangler. - Samantha you are an amazing example of what we want to help promote on our Women Can Wheel Wednesday posts. Strong. Independent. Getting it done for themselves. You are truly an inspiration we happily point to, to show other young ladies and Women what they can do,! Keep up the great work! If crazy lifted and stretched JK’s are your thing, boy do we have a WCW this week that you are going to LOVE! - @psychocupcake ( AKA: Kate ) has one of the best engineered rigs we’ve seen in a while. Which, stands to reason since Kate is, by day, an Aerospace Engineer. A long time Jeep girl the love affair with the seven slotted beasts began in her teens: I was 17 when I got a Grand Cherokee. My dad wouldn’t let me have a Wrangler because he thought they were unsafe. Fas...t forward to later in life and I wind up buying a brand new 2012 JK Rubicon, and the adventure began! From stock, that Jeep went to a 2.5 lift with 35’s and then to a 3.5 lift with 37’s and front and rear Antirocks. Now, after quite a bit of time and a LOT of effort, it’s a fully stretched wheelbase on 40 sticky Maxxis Treps and 16 ORI struts, to list just a few of the mods. It should be noted at this point, Kate performed all the work, either on her own or with the help of a friend in her own garage. Turning the wrenches herself and learning as she went. It’s been a great journey. Coming from someone that couldn’t have told you the difference between a driveshaft and an axle shaft before I owned my JK. One of my favorite things about owning a Jeep and building it is how much I have learned and how empowering that is. Kate is one of those women that welcomes a new experience, even if it pushes her slightly out of her comfort zone. I love the challenge of building and wheeling! The challenge of pushing myself and my Jeep is something that will never get old. The best part of this journey though is the friendships I have made in this community. They have truly been life changing and I can’t imagine my life without the people I have met through the Jeep world. - Thanks for the upclose and personal look at what you have going on, @psychocupcake ! We think a lot of up and coming Jeep girls can take more than a few clues from what it is you do and how you do it! Keep up the great work, and thanks for being an amazing inspiration! Middle of the week and the day we reserve for highlighting our favorite WCW Women Can Wheel Wednesday story. - This week we have non other than @oh_that_1_chick and her 2013 JKU Rubicon! After searching long and hard for an all white jeep with a white top, finally in 2018 I found her! By late 2018 I had started the build. My original plans to have a nicer Jeep were fairly short lived however, when I went out with the boys on a run that first time they gave me so much g...rief Saying I I was to scared o do something because I drive a Pretty Jeep I said, hold my beer and watch this, and never looked back! Shortly after that I was hooked. We would wheel every weekend anywhere and everywhere. We’ve attended KOH, EJS and Trail Hero to name a few. Along the way, Ive been working on my Jeep. slowly building her bigger and stronger. Soon Ill do an axle swap to Tons, and add a full Genright cage as well. Im obsessed with having a badass rig that completely fits me and my wheeling style! Having a Jeep has afforded us (her husband, Adam better known as @oh_that_1_dude who has his own amazing rig) the opportunity to connect with so many amazing and wonderful people! Im really looking forward to having my rig done so I can get out there with the big boys and show them that chicls can wheel just as hard if not better! - What a great story! The list of mods that she has done to her Jeep are extensive to say the least. In fact the list would probably take up most of this post. It’s probably easier to describe it as Cassie herself does; basically everything but the engine has been replaced. On any normal ( read: non Covid) summer, I would be wheeling and camping every weekend. I have a small crew that we get to wheel with. The #4LoCrew, along with her copilot pup named Duke and her boyfriend have had plenty of adventures together and never miss an opportunity to bust out and get some trail work done. - Id like to show that Women can and, do wheel every bit as hard as the Men do. Frankly, we couldn’t agree more. - Taking a look at all the pictures you may notice the frequent and strategic use of the color Purple on this build. Originally I had done just a few parts as a way to set the Jeep apart from the others. A way to show it was owned by a woman. But, once I learned I could get the axles done as well, I kinda just went crazy with it. - Ive met some of the best people wheeling! I now consider most of them as family. In fact, wheeling is how I met my boyfriend. Future plans for the JK include the addition of coil overs, or ORI’s. When asked about his rig, Matt said: I bought my 2004 Jeep LJ as a commuter. Soon it began to evolve into a great off road vehicle. My first real modifications were the Rockjock antirock swaybar, Currectlync steering and, 4 inch suspension kit. In 2018 I decided to do the full upgrade and stretch the body. Current running gear includes the Currie 70 rear and extrtreme 60 front axles. Rockjock Johnnyjonts anoint a savvy mid arm kit. RockJock front and rear Antirock sway bars with Genright builder parts and fenders, finish things off. Brothers 4x4 did the stretch and insalled the axles. The Jeep rolls on KMC wheels with Milestar black label Patagonia 40 inch tires. Finally I topped it off with the American convoy safari style softop and Bulldawg mfg hard upper half doors.
