TIP OF THE DAY The average lifespan of a horse is 25-30 years. Most enjoy light riding well into retirement! We know a lot about hoof, teeth, and joint care now, so we can keep our equine partners happy and comfortable through all the stages of their lives

TIP OF THE DAY Bath time!! Coming into our warmer time of year, there is no better way to show your horse some appreciation after a long sweaty ride! At the end of the day, after they have done all their lessons, the horses get a good rinse. Then once a week or so they get a bath with soap and scrubbing! I like to use Mane and Tail on the mane and tail and I use suave on the horse’s body. There are fly repellent soaps out there that I like to use, but you have to be good on your manure upkeep for them to be effective.

We had such a great time putting on Oak Valley Stables first ever gymkhana! None of us expected such a turnout and we are so grateful for each person that came and participated! Just wanted to post a friendly reminder about our upcoming gymkhana! Sign ups and arena will open at 7:30am. I will close the arena around 9 to set up the first event and hope to get started around 9:30! There will be lunch for $5 a meal. Bring your own chairs! It’s going to be a day full of fun!
