Meet Charlie! Charlie is a 55 pound one year old Pitbull. Charlie is an incredibly happy, loyal and loving dog that will brighten his new homes lives. He is super friendly with all people and dogs but not good with cats. He is loyal, smart and high energy. He loves to stay mentally stimulated and physically stimulated with training exercises. He enjoys fetch and going on hikes. He knows how to sit and shake a paw. ... He needs more training with heeling on a leash, not play nipping, and not jumping. However, he is an extremely quick learner and aims to please. He would be best suited in a home with a backyard and somewhere he gets lots of exercise. Charlie is a 55 pound one-year-old Pitbull. Meet gorgeous Isco! This sweet and lovely boy is an approximately 3-4 year-old, 63-pound Siberian Husky looking for his forever family. Isco loves everyone he meets. He is good with other dogs and loves doggie playdates in well secured areas. Isco is pretty good on leash but gets excited when he sees other dogs because he wants to play. ... He loves car rides and would gladly jump into your car to join you on your adventures. This boy just exudes sweetness and love. Isco is house trained and crate trained. He knows sit, down and shake and is working on stay, come, leave it and drop it so he needs someone who is committed to continue his positive reinforcement training. Isco is a typical husky in every way and would be best-suited in a home that has breed experience or is willing to do breed research. Training should be a part of his new life and his new home must give him adequate opportunities for mental stimulation and lots of exercise. Active people are encouraged to apply. Isco would be perfect for someone who loves to go for long runs, brisk walks, and hikes. And, please, no cats or any other small animals in the household for this handsome boy; he has an extremely high prey drive. Roscoe is a fun-loving, older male dog, about 15 years old, but with the heart of a puppy. He loves getting his booty rubs and going for walks. He follows basic commands including wait, come, sit, lay down, and stop. His foster mom is working on having him respond to look at me on walks, as a replacement behavior instead of barking at other dogs. Roscoe generally walks well on leash. His back legs are sensitive/ some pain and he will growl, occasionally, if his back legs a...re rubbed . He is more comfortable with females, warms slowly to males and is wary of unknown males approaching on walks and may vocalize his displeasure. He loves chewing bones, chasing squirrels and laying on the couch. Because of his sensitive back legs, Roscoe needs an adult only home (or dog-savvy older children). He seems interested in other dogs but has a hard time coping with excitement, just needs a little work. Roscoe could probably live with another mellow dog. Since we are now all living in the land of uncertain hearts, I have recently found myself wondering how we are gonna make it through. We are just a rescue that helps animals. In the huge global scheme of it all, we are just a tiny drop. A small group of people practicing goodness - a tiny drop in an ocean. But, then, here’s the thing : I believe in my deepest heart that there are others out there..many many many others. All of us, tiny drops. All practicing goodness. All... of it - in a very real manner- creating a safety net for the hearts of the hurt, the threatened and the lost. In all honesty, we’ve had some real struggles of late. And this rescue, it literally means everything to me. So, as I’m sitting here at 10pm-in my car outside the emergency vet with a found stray, a sweet but skinny and dirty pitbull vomiting in my backseat -waiting to be rushed in- I’m posting to once again ask for your support. I was going to write to you about all that happened today. About the beautiful cat that we rushed to the vet - found (likely poisoned), laying on the side of the road.. I was going to talk to you about the little baby Sheperd pups left in a field that came to us with dozens ticks all over their ears. But you all know what we do. Simply put, these funds will go directly to support the daily work of saving lives. I’m gonna beg for money now so please bear with me y’all. We are $7000 short of our goal. A HUGE Thank You to all involved in our mask fundraiser over the last months. The biggest one goes to Loreen Armstrong Rinker who made hundreds of masks for us! (And, Nancy Dutton who jumped in, as well!) Between selling them at Jeffreys Natural Pet Food stores and Marianne Parsons selling them online from her home Rocket Dog Rescue made almost $10,000! Another happily-ever-after "tail"! Gorgeous George lV (fka Iggi) and his 6 siblings were rescued after being dumped in a box (sans Mama!) next to someone's rural mailbox. They all found loving homes through Rocket Dog and are living the lives they were meant to be. "Gorgeous George IV is such a joy to have around. We got him a few weeks before the shutdown with no idea what was coming, but he's been such a bright spot through all the craziness. He is a complete lap dog, ...with no sense of his own size, and loves to snuggle (especially in the morning as he is first waking up). He is also super outgoing and friendly--he has yet to meet another dog he doesn't want to play with, and he gets along great with all humans, including kids. While he is generally mellow in disposition, he does love to do zoomies around the house at times, which is always entertaining albeit nerve-wracking." Every day, Pali, our fearless leader, jumps into life-saving missions of saving dogs from homelessness, abuse, and euthanasia. She and the Rocket Dog volunteers say, "YES!", whenever asked for help. Life-saving is a heartwarming way of life but it's expensive, to be frank.
