Our community partners support our mission and are crucial in achieving our goal of helping underserved youth. This month, we are proudly featuring our partner, Whipsaw Media who has been one of Robyne’s Nest founding community supporters. As a partner to Robyne’s Nest, they can be thanked for launching the Robyne’s Nest bird-in-hand logo with the eye-catching blue and green colors. Teaching independence and self-sufficiency is the goal of parenting. Unfortunately, many of our Robyne’s Nest students are homeless or unsupported. At Robyne’s Nest it is our priority to provide the hands-on assistance our students need to become self-sufficient. This can involve teaching the students to drive, how to complete their tax forms, how to repair and maintain a bike (the means of transportation for many of them), or helping them find safe housing.

Robyne’s Nest recognizes our volunteers are essential in achieving the goal of helping underserved youth. This month Linda Kannow has been selected for our monthly Volunteer Highlight series. Linda has been a volunteer at Robyne’s Nest since 2018 and comes well-qualified! After a 20-year career in education as a teacher, mentor, and finally as an administrator she is a true advocate for students. The second week of February, people all over the world celebrate Random Acts of Kindess Week by striving to make kindness an inspirational aspect of people's lives. The national day is celebrated February 17. The work to create a kinder world never ends. There is no limit on the amount of goodness we can put into the world. Not only do the acts of kindess bring joy to the receiver, but they provide the giver with happiness too. Do your part this week - spread as much kindness as you can!

Teen Dating Violence can affect any teen, no matter their skin color, foster/non-foster, family income, sexual preference, etc. Teens who have had abuse/trauma, no positive role models at home, or low self-esteem looking for attention are extremely vulnerable to teen dating violence. On the flip side, the abuser has likely been abused or neglected themselves or lived in an environment that exhibited the abuse. No teen is less or more worthy than another when it comes to this topic...awareness, prevention and help for the victim and abuser, once it's discovered, are a must to stop it before adulthood. Be an advocate, bring awareness, know where help is. Click here for an excellent video on Teen Dating Violence: https://youtu.be/VuMCzU54334

Today our #thankfultuesday is for the Rozar Family Foundation and their generous grant to Robyne's Nest for student housing. Robyne's Nest provides safe, stable housing for independent high schools students who lack parental support. The primary objective of the Rozar Family Foundation is to support non-profit organizations, like Robyne's Nest, that provide direct services to children in need. Their commitment to helping neglected youth is reflected in the continuous support of non-profits #makingadifference in the lives of young people.

Working directly with schools and the administration team allows for us to more easily and accurately identify at-risk or homeless high schools students to create a 360 degree support network. We love our school administrators!
