We’re so happy to be able to share the news that this print by designer Ann Kelle will soon be available on fabric! Kelle shared her original artwork in a post a couple weeks ago. Kelle explains I drew this as I was processing raw hurt and pain towards racism and the racial injustices in our country. The simple caption See Us. Hear Us. Love Us. is both my heart’s cry and hope. Robert Kaufman will be dedicating all of its profits from this print to a scholarship fund for Black aspiring textile students, which we are in the process of setting up. We will share more details about the fund as it is developed. This print will be up on our website early next week, so stay tuned! (Shipping to stores in September!)

We know our community deserves to hear where we stand and what we plan to do. This is what we firmly believe - Black lives, Black dreams, Black futures MATTER. We recognize we are late in making this statement - not just in terms of the past couple weeks’ events but in the history of this injustice. And while well overdue, we are now working to come up with an action plan for our company that will not just be reactionary but a sustained effort to carry with us into the future.... It’s not enough to simply not be racist - we must also actively do our part in the pursuit of anti-racism and racial justice. As a start, we are making a donation to the Equal Justice Initiative. We will continue to learn about and contribute to other charities/non-profits/initiatives, and other community programs, with some other plans already in the works, which we will announce soon. If you have any suggestions for us to look through, we welcome them here. We’re also looking into ways we can help support and celebrate Black-owned businesses and Black artists in the quilting community. Expect to see more from us in this respect, and in the meantime, please feel free to tag quilt artists/pattern designers/stores/companies in the comments! We’re here, we’re listening, and we are committed to working with this great community to effect real, positive change.
