Dear Friends, Family, and Colleagues, After a long period in production interrupted by some unforeseen health issues, I was able to ship the portrait of Gary and Sondra Haller to Yale in June. I followed it to New Haven and completed it there in September. The portrait is 77H x 55W, oil on linen. The figures were drawn from life and painted life-size using the drawings and additional live sittings. I painted a fantasy environment based on the actual courtyard and grounds ...of the University’s Jonathan Edwards College where Gary and Sondra were Master and Associate Master for twelve years. The oil paint has to dry for six months before it is varnished and framed. Then the unveiling! It will hang in the magnificent Jonathan Edwards Dining Hall with portraits of the previous Masters. Dear Friends, Family and Colleagues, After many months (dare I say years) working first in New Haven and more recently in San Francisco, my portrait of Gary and Sondra Haller will be heading to its permanent home at Yale. I’ll be there for three months this summer putting in final elements and making various color, shape, and value adjustments.
