My first childhood memory was ocean water up to my nose as my family boarded a fishing boat looking for a better life. The second earliest memory was of my bare feet burning on the deck of an American ship that rescued us. I’m grateful for this country and the freedom that it provides. Now I’m able to do something that I’m passionate about rather than working a job just to survive. With all the weirdness currently going on in the world it’s easy to forget how lucky we truly are.
