On Wednesday, June 16, 2021, the Riverside Youth Judo Club presented scholarships totaling $10,000.00 to six of their graduating seniors. Great job and congratulations to all the recipients.

FREE SWIM DAY KICKS OFF The 2021 Free Swim sessions kicked off yesterday afternoon at the Bobby Bonds Park Sippy Woodhead pool. Many families were out cooling off and having fun at the pool on a hot day with free Kona Ice for the kids!!! Also, we will be giving away one boy and one girl mountain bicycle at each session thanks to the Riverside Optimist Club, so don’t forget to register when you arrive. The next session will be at Villegas Park on Wednesday June 23 from 1:30-3:30. See you there!!!

RIVERSIDE SANDLOT SOFTBALL & BASEBALL CAMP The Riverside Police Department and Riverside Police Foundation, in collaboration with the City of Riverside Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department, will be hosting a softball and baseball camp at Hunter Park in July. ... Riverside PLAY The Riverside Community Parks Association, Inc. and Riverside Police Foundation are partnering together to teach the youth of Riverside a variety of sports skills. Children between the ages of 7-13 will have the opportunity to interact with volunteers and police while learning the basic fundamentals of several sports which will include golf, tennis, volleyball and baseball. Participants will be split into small groups for minimal instru...ction to better help learn each sport. They will also be taught the rules and how the equipment is used for playing these games. Riverside PLAY is free and will be offered once a week for an hour. The program will vary from 4 to 6 weeks based on the offered sport. ANNUAL EL PROTECTOR SOCCER CLINIC The Riverside Police Department’s EL PROTECTOR youth program, supported by the Riverside Police Foundation, will be having their annual soccer clinic on Saturday, October 12, 2019, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Villegas Park in Riverside. The Golden Badge Awards is a dinner event and fundraiser with awards presented in three categories:... Distinguished Community Leader Chief's Award Future Leader Award These awards were designed to recognize outstanding community members that have shown a commitment to the youth in our community, and to acknowledge a member of our youth programs that has shown outstanding leadership abilities. Additionally the dinner will be used as a fundraiser to help maintain the programs supported by the Riverside Police Foundation (RPF). The RPF is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing "Service to Youth" and assisting the Riverside Police Department (RPD) with its community outreach. The foundation shares RPD's vision of taking a leadership role in providing a variety of programs to enhance the city's service to youth. The Riverside Police Foundation relies on community-based funding from private and corporate donors including individuals, small business, and corporate sponsors who support our mission through volunteerism, donations, sponsorships, and in-kind resources. Don’t forget... Today’s Free Swim Day will be held at Arlington Park from 2 - 4 p.m., located at 3860 Van Buren Boulevard in Riverside near Magnolia Avenue. Look for the RPD booth to get your slips for families to swim. Kona Ice will also be on hand and there will be games and activities for the kids. See you there!
