Fundraising Committee Fundraising committee holds an emphasis on relieving all patients of the financial burden that comes with the cost of proper healthcare. We strive to find support from local businesses, charitable donors, and large corporations in effort to provide the framework necessary in allowing RFC to be a completely free run clinic. Our committee performs outreach to spread the mission of RFC and engage with our community. Stress Relief Committee The Stress Relief committee strives to advocate for the importance of mental health for our patients by providing them stress-relieving techniques that can be used daily in their convenience. Stress Relief hosts one-on-one classes with patients to provide a comfortable and intimate environment for genuine interaction. We have provided classes centered around a wide array of topics ranging from paint therapy, meditation, exercise and so much more! Our committee aims to further educate our patients on mental health, wellness, and care, and provide a safe space for them to share their voices. -Stress Relief Officer @_cindyytang

Nutrition Committee The nutrition committee at RFC helps to provide patients with a location to learn and discuss nutritional facts, as well as healthier lifestyle choices. Our committee is dedicated to helping patients make decisions to better their health by allowing them to approach us and ask for dietary counseling. Our committee enjoys talking with patients and hearing about their positive progress, as we strengthen our trust with the patients. Medspa Committee The MedSpa (Medical Spanish) committee aids in the proper communication/translation between spanish speaking patients and doctors, nurses, medical students and more. This includes translating conversations, documents, answering questions and ensuring nothing is lost in translation. We strive to ensure that language is not a barrier that could prevent the spanish speaking community from receiving healthcare at the Riverside Free Clinic. -Medspa Officer @_josegarc

Lung Health Committee Our committee aims to empower individuals to take control of their lung health. We develop personalized plans with patients and enroll them in our programs to help them achieve their lung health goals. We tailor strategies to fit each patient's needs and adjust accordingly based on the patient's progress. Our programs are directed towards helping patients quit smoking, manage their asthma, and maintain overall lung health. We provide nicotine replacements, asthma medication, pamphlets, and we also host educational classes. Labs Committee The Labs committee builds strong patient rapports while providing quality care blood draw services, pregnancy exams, urine screenings on clinic sites. The Labs committee is an integral component to the triage and assessment processes and we work in direct contact with medical students and physicians. This committee communicates with the interdisciplinary team about which diagnostic tests are ordered and assists in the process of obtaining specimens. This com...mittee is clinically hands-on and undergraduates may assist in tasks such as: inserting the blood collecting duct into the butterfly needle, comforting the patient, and packaging of patient specimens. Hygiene Kits Committee The Hygiene Kits committee provides patients with free hygiene products that promote their overall health and well-being. The goal of this committee is to teach patients how to implement and maintain hygiene habits that preserve their health. Diabetes Management Committee The Diabetes Management Committee strives to create a welcoming and comforting enviornment for diabetic and pre-diabetic patients. DMC works to provide the best care possible for patients by acting with sensitivity and empathy to the adversitites patients undergo whilst still remianing respectful and mindful of the different experiences and life situations patients may have experienced. Our committee focuses on helping and providing diabetic patients with the resources needed to manage a healthy lifestyle. Intake Committee Our committee serves as the welcoming face of RFC as we ensure all patients feel comfortable and respected during their check-in process. Social Services Committee "The Social Services committee works to provide essential care and resources that our patients can not obtain at RFC. Aside from other medical and health resources, we offer information in a variety of areas ranging from food banks and homeless shelters to reducing utility bills and immigration support for undocumented patients. Hi guys :) On May 31, the Social Services committee made another foray into the Riverside community, this time to the Eastside Health Center. Close to Downtown Riverside, the Eastside Health Center provides many standard medical services, with low-cost options available. It also encounters some socioeconomically disadvantaged populations, similar to the underserved the Riverside Free Clinic targets. We were able to share more RFC flyers here about our free services for prospective patients, and we are glad to have been able to meet with Eastside. On May 3, the Social Services Committee visited the Path of Life Riverside Community Shelter (Hulen), where they distributed flyers about RFC to the local populace. There, our members were able to encourage those in need to take advantage of the many services we offer and to take care of themselves. The committee was also able to leave flyers behind to attract future patients possibly in need of help.
