Wildlife captured by trail cameras at our Rancho Jamul and Daley Preserve Projects in San Diego County. Combined, these two projects create about two miles of continuous creekside habitat between Dulzura Creek and Highway 94, which provides various terrestrial wildlife safe passage along the well-traveled roadway. Credit to 2020 ecological restoration intern Carissa Stanz, who installed the cameras. #bobcat #coyote #wildlife #sandiegocounty #habitatrestoration

River Partners biologist Emma Havstad spotted these ravens in the trees at our San Dieguito River project, a 100-acre site in the San Pasqual Valley south of Escondido. This project benefits the endangered least Bell's vireo and arroyo toad, and a variety of other common species. (Did you know that a group of ravens is called an unkindness or conspiracy? A little unfair if you ask us!) #conservation #environment #wildlife #birds #ravens #nature

The public park along a Sacramento River side channel we constructed near Redding in 2020 just got a new name: Nur Pon. It means salmon run in the local Wintu language and acknowledges the importance of the channel to migrating salmon, whose numbers are critically low. Visitors to the new park will be able to cross the channel on a pedestrian bridge and see rearing and migrating salmon firsthand. https://krcrtv.com//open-spaces-renamed-with-wintu-languag. #conservation #salmon #openspaces

Ten years ago, we restored 55 acres on the Cibola National Wildlife Refuge near the California-Arizona border. Today, the invasive salt cedar that once dominated the landscape is all but gone, replaced by native plants and thriving populations of birds and other wildlife. #restoration #birds #wildlife #cibola #california #invasives #conservation https://www.riverpartners.org//re-wilding-the-lower-color/

The new Netflix film Kiss the Ground showcases the value of carbon capture through plants and soilsa proven climate solution and an expanding global movement. For decades, River Partners has championed reforestation, empowering communities to restore thousands of acres with millions of trees and build native plant diversity and healthy soils on our riverways throughout California. https://youtu.be/K3-V1j-zMZw #climatechange #climatecrisis #environment #carboncapture #trees #reforestation #nativeplants #soilhealth #soilscience #soils #rivers

Invasive giant reed grows fast and forms massive, dense stands that displace native riparian pants and provide fuel for wildfires. With funding from Bureau of Reclamation and help from the Cesar Chavez Environmental Corps, River Partners restoration Biologist Francis Ulep and team are working under smoky skies to remove giant reed from along the floodway of the San Joaquin River. #conservation #environment #invasivespecies #invasive #rivers #restoration #biodiversity #greenjobs #environmental

Pollinators come in all shapes and sizes: Steel blue cricket hunters belong to the thread-waisted wasp family and are so-named because they hunt and kill large crickets to feed to their young. Despite their fierce reputation, they are actually important pollinators.
