NEW! RCCC has completed our certification as a designated Cat Friendly GOLD Practice by the American Association of Feline Practitioners. This certificate is only given to a few selected veterinary clinics that have proven they take specific extra steps to assure they understand a cat’s unique needs and implement feline-friendly standards. Reminder-We will be closed Monday May 31 in observance of Memorial Day
Meet Mr Miller! Less than a pound of tragic cuteness abandoned in our care today. Timmee misses Boz- he needs a companion and he loves kittens. So, Miller will be living the high life now. Status of right eye tbd- one eye clinic cats are cool, right?
Our hearts are heavy today! We had to say goodbye to one of our own. Boz shared his affectionate nature with staff and clients alike for 17 years at RCCC. We will miss him checking out our snack options at lunch and snuggling while we sit at the computer. He was a purrbox and a sweet boy!
Our patient Bernadette celebrated her 21st birthday recently! Here she is "reading" her birthday card and posing with a flower. Such a pretty kitty and special girl!
Our Power is out!! We are adapting with a little generator for computer access, using our cell phones, headlamps, and moving our supplies around to the brightest rooms. We appreciate your patience with our limitations as we do our best to adapt without closing today.
Cheers to brighter days ahead in 2021! RCCC will be closed Friday Jan 1-Sunday Jan 3 for the long holiday weekend. We hope you all can celebrate big while staying safe at home. We will be back to business as usual on Monday!
In memorandum of our founding veterinarian and pioneer of feline only practices, Dr. Robert Powell, who passed away of natural causes in May 2020. Enjoy this lovely article on Feline Only Clinics-with an honorable mention of Dr. Powell and River City Cat Clinic. https://www.petful.com/beha/feline-only-veterinary-clinics/
HAPPY NATIONAL CAT DAY -photo of Maisey and Mabel- Dr Salaguinto’s babies! We would love to see your favorite cat picture too! -
We are currently experiencing longer than usual wait times to get an appointment. We understand that this can be frustrating and we apologize for the inconvenience. RCCC is a relatively small team working on tiny patients in very close proximity to each other. Despite implementation of CDC coronavirus transmission precautions, we are at risk of easily sharing the virus among our staff. Out an abundance of caution, we have a very strict sick policy for team members that occasionally leaves us short-staffed. We are all working as hard as we can to take care of our patients, while at the same time keeping our staff healthy and our facility open. We appreciate your patience and support as we navigate these trying times!
Have a safe and happy holiday weekend!

COVID-19 UPDATES at RCCC 1. New Temporary Office Hours M-F 8am-5pm Sat 8am-12pm... Sunday Closed *closed M-F 1230-130 for lunch* 2. Modification to "sick pet only" policy Since the stay at home initiative is anticipated to extend longer than we expected, we are now also seeing current RCCC patients that are OVERDUE for their Rabies Vaccine. We will keep you updated as we anticipate seeing patients currently due for Rabies Vaccines soon. Rabies is a deadly virus that is found in bats, raccoons, and skunks in the Sacramento Region. We believe that this vaccination is essential for both the cat and for public health safety. 3. We have temporarily suspended annual exam/vaccination reminders except for rabies vaccines at this time (to keep our office visits limited to the most essential care). As always, we appreciate your support!
