Alright, alright...we are getting back to our VW Bus Campervan restoration project which has been on pause due to the pandemic, two fire evacuations, and just getting through this wild ride of a year. We’ve begun the sanding process to remove the old paint. We are now patching rust holes with Bondo & power washing inside and out. These hippie busses are all from 1978-1979 and have their own little history. Sorting through my pictures & came across these shots from our visit to @plasticsbell in Hayward, California last year. This is where we first met Bruce Kennedy whose amazingly talented team did the meticulous work to restore our 60 year old Paul Bunyan Muffler Man. We also met a lot of Paul’s fiberglass friends including Doggie Diner, Big Mike, and Cowboy Muffler Man among many insanely cool relics. Last night was an absolutely epic Halloween. Not only did our favorite holiday fall on a Saturday night, but we got an extra hour to sleep in this morning thanks to daylight savings time! And did you see that full moon? That is the first time since 1944 that our entire planet got to enjoy the full moon in all time zones. It’s called a Hunter’s Moon & it’s super rare. Also, being the 2nd full moon of the month, it is a Blue Moon. So we all got to enjoy a Hunter’s Blue Moon for Halloween!

It was a really perfect, spooky, full-moon, dance-off, hayriding into the night, sweet-as-could-be kind of Halloween. And that’s a wrap folks! Camping season is officially complete. (Mic drop). Big hugs to all of our camper friends out there for another fabulous season. We appreciate you more than you can possibly imagine & can’t wait to see you next season!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! We are excited to celebrate Halloween with our campers today! We’ve got a fun evening planned! Every activity has been thoughtfully planned while adhering to social distancing requirements. During the costume parade & spooky dance off our staff will be hiding the candy bags for the Candy Scavenger Hunt. Hotel Transylvania will be the Drive-in movie tonight. Our fall camping season may be coming to a close this weekend, but the RV / Campervan sites are open YEAR ROUND! There are a ton of beautiful places to hike and explore all around the Russian River. One of our favorites is Goat Rock Beach. Simply follow the river as you head West and the road will lead you right to the Pacific Ocean (it’s just an 18 mile drive from River Bend). Goat Rock Beach is unmistakeable due to the unique rocks jutting out of the water. It was also the location of the final scene in the movie Goonies! A perfect spot for a picnic - swipe to see the picnic & spectacular view we enjoyed for my birthday this year.
