I will start with the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy: https://www.usmma.edu/ It's a Federal Academy like West Point or the Air Force Academy but doesn't require active duty service upon graduation (just reserve duty). It's located on Long Island so you can take a local train service into Manhattan on the weekends if you like to be social, or join the sailing team and sail away the weekends.

It's never too late to be inspired by people. One person can change the course of someone's life. It could be you. Please join Rio&Beyond in any capacity. We support the Rio Counselors to reach out and lift up everyone in our school community. You will learn a lot about the many paths students have to choose as well as how to help students, including your own, lead to their best self. Rio will be joining the SJUSD once again to host a college-themed not day but four-day Virtual College Week Sept. 14-17, 2020. Come be a part of it as well as our many other events including Seminars, Mock Tests, Student "What is your plan after Rio" Conversations. It's fun.
