Congratulations to Nicholas and Samantha Maurer for passing the AP portfolio review. Samantha was the first sophomore in RVHS history to pass and she received a perfect score of 5. Nicholas was only the second student to pass the 2D design portfolio and did so after only 1 semester of Art 1. Two very impressive accomplishments.

Each student was asked to construct a non representational form that transitioned from a 8" base to a 4" base. Students then broke into like groups and decided on finish technique of form and stacking placement. The 4 stacking forms were then mounted around the ceramics studio.

Slab, coil, and slump formed vessels. High fire reduction and mid fire oxidation glazes.

3/4 life size ceramic animal heads finished with acrylic washes.

Students were asked to create a ceramic sculpture incorporating at least 3 cubes and 3 spheres emphasizing balance, contrast, and texture. All pieces were finished with spectrum mid fire glazes.
