It’s been a tough year for everyone. We’ve lost several community members in 2020 and families were unable to gather and celebrate their loved ones lives or say their goodbyes in traditional fashion. The Rio Oso Community Hall has always been a large part of those types of gatherings and it’s been difficult for us to have to say no to those families during their time of need. We’re praying for a better 2021 for all. Cheers to a safe, happy and healthy new year!

Our community, especially the Rio Oso Hall, is SO VERY FORTUNATE to have Mr. John Taresh. He never hesitates to help whenever we need assistance. This week he and his crew came and cleared SEVERAL piles of leaves, pine cones, branches and brush away from the hall! If you see him around town, be sure to thank him for his help with keeping the community hall tidy! We love you John! #thankfulandblessed

Hello Rio Oso community! We’ve missed all of you attending events at the hall. No rental income during our busiest months has been rough but we have been fortunate to have many generous donors in recent years and that has helped to keep us afloat. Stay well and healthy. We hope to be able to open for rentals again soon!

CALL TO ACTION FOR YUBA-SUTTER RESIDENTS! YOUR ACTIONS NEEDED TO SUPPORT OUR BUSINESSES! As you may have seen and will hear officially later today, Yuba & Sutte...r Counties will be added to the State's monitoring list and they will require the business types listed in this post to cease indoor operations effective at 12:01am on Sunday morning for a minimum of three weeks. Why are we on the list? We are on the list because the number of new cases in both counties exceeded 100 per 100k people over the last 14 days. In addition, both counties have a case positivity rate > 8% (it's 19% for Sutter and 25% for Yuba). What happens after three weeks? If Yuba & Sutter Counties can drop our COVID19 metrics below the triggers to be on the monitor list during the three week period, we can roll-back the restrictions at the end of that time. If we can't lower them below triggers during the three weeks, the restrictions will remain in effect until we drop below the threshold. What can you do? EACH OF US has a PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY to slow the spread of COVID19 in our community in order to get these restrictions removed and prevent more in the future. We must ALL work together to accomplish this. 50% of infections originate at social gatherings with family/friends/households. Our local businesses are dependent on OUR actions to keep them in business. I plead with my fellow community members to put aside the political debate about COVID19 and do your part to support our local businesses by taking public health requirements and guidelines seriously. PLEASE take personal responsibility to do the following: - Avoid social gatherings with friends & family from outside your household. - If you do gather, please do so outside vs inside - If you do gather, please wear a facial covering and practice social distancing as much as possible - When in public, practice social distancing at all times and wear your facial covering while visiting indoor businesses. Thank YOU for supporting our businesses and the health and safety of your family, friends, and neighbors. It will take ALL OF US working together to get these restrictions removed.
