This is the tale of the Tickled Tree. There were two trees both were a bit on the scrawny size and had seemed to reach their peak of growth. One tree found it so funny that something else would try and determine its peak of growth it was absolutely tickled. And everyday it laughed a little unexpectedly at the idea. It began to say thank you for the opportunity to laugh at this again and again. One tree grew larger than expected. Nothing could get in its head because it was rooted in what it was. Once upon a time in another life I saw myself a middle eastern man of about 50 who delivered children in a relatively small village that had housing similar to huts but made of clay. I was very good at what I did, I was proud of my work and received enough praise from my village to pacify me. One day I took a trip and discovered a world beyond my own. This world, this city was bigger and grander than anything I was accustomed to. There were hospitals and more modern technolog...ies than I could have fathomed. I felt small in comparison, unaccomplished. When I returned to my home I couldn't shake these feelings for the rest of my days. I died earlier than I needed to because of the distress of my mental and emotional state. My take away from this life was that I let grandiosity blind me to the beauty of my own work, to the value I contributed. It seemed small to me but was grand to those I served and I disregarded this. As I continue to work with the past lives of myself and others, I see more and more clearly that the purpose of the challenges we face in life is to show our souls that unconditional love can never be destroyed. Often times, we think that because the conditions around our love are gone (the relationship, the family, the home, the self-perception of value, loved ones lost to death, etc) are gone, that the love we felt is also gone. The truth is, the love we share and pour into ourselves and others can never be destroyed, as it is is the primary energy of the universe. This is an example of Tacit knowledge something that is hard to communicate how you know it's just that you do! There are many examples of this. Situational Awareness Matters!Tacit knowledge is the collection of life’s experiences, education and training that reside outside conscious awareness. It’s the knowledge one possess that helps guide intuition, a vital component to making high-stress, high-consequence, split second decisions. As you go through life you purposefully acquire a lot of information. You also acquire as much, if not more, information unintentionally. Your senses are very perceptive to environmental clues and cues and they’re always processing and analyzing what is happening around you. While you may not know it, your brain is recording and storing some of those experiences. That is part of your tacit knowledge. As you consciously navigate through life you are also perceiving and storing information. Some of this information you can recall quickly and flawlessly. Some if it is difficult to remember. The information stored, but outside of the ready recall region, is in part, tacit knowledge. As you have similar experiences over and over again, your brain stores patterns of information from those experiences that become routines your brain can call up that will guide your decision making. Those stored patterns are, in part, tacit knowledge. This is what allows you to know that the restroom in a restaurant is going to be located at the front of the building or the back of the building and rarely, if ever, on the sides of the building. Past experiences, stored as patterns of knowledge, coupled with observations of the current environment, allows your intuition to guide you.
