Food vouchers applicants: Due to a high volume of applications submitted yesterday, our notifications regarding the status of your applications were delayed until today. Applicants receiving the electronic voucher will be notified via text. Please remember that priority was given to first time applicants due to limited funding. Unfortunately, applicants who have received assistance several times, did not qualify for this distribution. Thank you for your understanding.

In order to apply, we have to request the following: 1. Applicant’s ID 2. Number of family members in the household and some type of identification. The amount distributed is based on # of people in each family. 3. A recent utility bill that shows the applicant’s physical address, to prove that applicants live in this community. We are not able to provide assistance for people that do not live up here. We do understand that getting these documents may be time consuming for some, but we would like everybody to be aware that these are not our requirements but our grantors. Please do not live voice messages as we are not able to return any phone calls, due to limited staff.

FOOD VOUCHERS & UTILITIES ASSISTANCE FACTS: 1. The documents required at the time of application, are being requested because grantors have those requirements in order to give away the funding. It is not being requested just because we want to give applicants a hard time. 2. Hearts & Lives seeks for this type of funding because we want to help our community and want its members to benefit from it. ... 3. We are trying our best to bring this type of assistance up here, but also we can reserve the right to serve applicants who are being disrespectful towards our staff members and do not want to comply with the requirements. 4. Hearts & Lives is accountable for every single penny that is being distributed and we cannot make any exceptions. 5. Our agency has been working extremely hard to serve our community and we are asking for your cooperation. 6. This is a voluntary program, and before distribution days, our agency is posting all requirements. It is the applicants’ choice to give us a call if they would like to apply.
