Help us bring more local youth to RMHC during the 2021/2022 school year. Our kids have been through so much, so let's work together to give them the best upcoming school year with lots of enrichment activities. Donate today and help us continue this important program.
We honor Richmond son Sgt. John Cisneros Cortez (1923-1944) this Memorial Day. He drowned in the English Channel in World War II when his plane was hit but took steps to ensure his air crew survived. Sgt. Cortez was awarded the Silver Star for Gallantry. His family continues to live and work in Richmond, California. Honor his memory by reading his story on our blog! https://richmondmuseum.org//honoring-sgt-john-cortez-1923/
Thank you to Richmond Pulse for capturing a glimpse of the Between Two Worlds exhibit! It's meaningful because RMHC shut down for COVID just days after this was filmed. #AAPI #AsianPacificAmericanHeritageMonth #richmondca #richmondcalifornia https://richmondpulse.org//exhibit-shows-untold-stories-o/

We miss creating for you! Staff is currently working on a mini-film series consistent of 5 short films covering different decades in Richmond. We need your help!... The 1960s is a decade identifiable by the civil rights movements and is an incredible time to reflect upon when questioning the lack of human rights and equity in the systems that govern our everyday lives. In order to accurately depict this time in Richmond, its movements, and its people, we want to learn from YOU. What Richmond Civil Rights history do you know? What Civil Rights history would you like to learn about? Do you have any Civil Rights history that we can share with our community? Sound off in the comments! THANK YOU!

Local history demonstrates that Richmond has emerged from adversity in the past. Accounts of ordinary folks overcoming serious challenges in the past inspire us to do the same in our lives. Please support the programs and operations of the RMHC this Giving Tuesday, so we can continue our mission to excite our community with the stories of local history and culture. https://richmondmuseum.org/donate/
